Sounding good, Tricia. :) I especially like the chorus melody.
(And the theme is one of my own favourites. ;)

Excellent work all round, folks. :)

I enjoyed playing to this song to. I only wish I could have had a go at Backing vox! though probably for the best with my voice  :D
The story I really liked and related to the melody the guitars are what inspired me and the out come is fantatstic. really like this one.

I couldn't help myself.
here's an alternate mix.
what's different...
backed off the hi hat on all but the bridge (automation)
completely redid the eq on the snare.
gave the kick & bass a slight boost.
gave the overhead a slight boost for second half of bridge to bring in more of the ride cymbal (automation).
sounds a little fuller; especially the snare.

thanks...

Mark

Steve, maybe you can add some backing vox to my other song "Prison of my Dreams" in studio A. I need  a few male voices speaking some lines kinda angry on that. ;)

Well done Mark!! This mix is way better and I really like the snare sound now, does Steve's efforts justice.

Mix sounds warm and big and tight!

Tric, could you post this mix up in the first post as well, it definitely deserves to be up there.

Great work all of you, guitars, drums and an absolutely super vocal from Tricia (right amount of rock, anguish and hurt)!!

Thanks Frank. I played this one last week at an acoustic open mic in an ice cream shop. Haha people could relate to these lyrics I think.  ;)

I can't leave well enough alone  :D
i keep coming back to this tune because i keep hearing a little voice saying tweak this & tweak that...come on...you can do it...
so here's my latest attempt.
my personal issue with the last mix was it still sounded a bit muddy to me.
so this is brighter & I think features the lead vocals a little more/better.
let me know what y'all think.

here's what i did & why...
eq on lead vox & a little volume boost (trying to get them to cut through a little more without having them just sit on top or way out front without losing the warmth)
eq on rhythm guitars (just to make them less mid-rangey)
eq on bass and a little volume cut and added just a tad of distortion (to get it to cut through a little more & not be so boomy)
eq on kick drum and a little volume cut (to give it thump but not be so boomy)
eq and volume cut on overhead & room mics on drums (trying to tame the crashes without losing the ambiance and fullness).

HI Mark,

Listened to the new mix, and there's a lot of improvement specially in the guitars and the vocals.

However, I think a few tweaks on the bottom end maybe required? Listening on smalll/average speakers the bottom end sounds a bit light, with the snare a bit splashy and the bass low.

A bit more work there and this should be pretty solid I would think.

Cheers
Andy

yeah. i did some more listening last night and realized i cut too much bottom end out and took away the warmth it had.
instead of tweaking I'm thinking i shoukd start from scratch.
i guess my big issue is that this is a great song and my mix is just okay.
clearly I've made some improvements with my mixing but i want my mix to be as great as the song.
that might be a tall order but I'm gonna keep plugging away.

finally. a mix i like & hopefully does this great song justice.
i started over instead of tweaking it to death.
with critiques through each step from AndyG i think we nailed it.
this is my final mix --- & i mean it this time  :D

thanks again for letting me be a part & sorry for taking so long to get the mix right.

Another good interpretation  ;D  But I think I prefer the first version, the one I got a wav file of.
It reminds me of Janes Addiction  which is by far not a bad thing 8)

Nice lyrics Tricia  8) Some good performances too, Steve is always good value on drums

This one sounds like something is a little off. I think it's the guitars...they sound a bit out of time, I suspect someone's played to a bed track that doesn't quite line up.

I quite like mix 1 & 3 so I'm glad you ditched the 2nd one as it seemed like a backward step from the first.

thanks Mark for the critique..especially on the mix.
i think I've come a long way...but still have a ways to go.
as for the guitar timing...i don't hear it overall. although, there are a couple spots where i felt like i was dragging a bit but all the accents sound like they're on to me.
thanks again...

Mark

well i got some new toys & decided to revisit some old tunes.
essentially i've been trying to do complete mixes using only ezmix plugins.
this is almost all ezmix.
everything is ezmix except some pitch correction on mine & Andy's backing vox & amplitube for the harmony leads.

I like, it but I think the vocals should be a bit more upfront, a lot going on in there.
