Probably the most atmospheric piece of music I have written, due to the subject matter and associated circumstances.

It is based upon the news we received at the intensive care department at the Accident and Emergency department of the local hospital,where my mother-in-law Marion (90 years old) had been rushed in an ambulance after having suffered a stroke. The family were taken nto a side-room and informed that Marion would not last the night and to make sure we said anything we felt we needed to say to her as "she was a very sick old lady". That is what made the dawn uncertain.

I am happy to say that Marion made a near full recovery and is now as fit and well as can be expected, albeit a very, very frail old lady :) :)

Here she is a picture taken with her great grandson on 11/24/08

OH...saw this up for awhile...didn't even realize I played on it until I saw the credits here...THOUGHT it sounded familiar! ;D ;D (didn't see a bass tab on it so...)

Thanks Dave and Rob, another two of my wonderful writing buddies!!

The concept was sad and hell to go through guys but the outcome was very, very happy. Marion is still soldiering on to this day...it was almost a miraculous turnaround. :) :)

Ditto Dave, I love the vibe too (especially Juhani's piano and strings!) and Rob, thanks for that my friend because there are sure as heck many GREAT songs on this board alone so that is some accolade :) :) 8) 8)

When I first heard this I understood all the words yet couldn't make the pieces fit together...what was I reading into the words?

Then you told this story to Todd & I regarding the circumstances,
at the time of your explaination may thoughts & emotions merged.

Hi Steve,

I know this songs covers a theme very personal to you, and it does pack an emotional punch. May I say that even without knowing the circumstances, to a casual listener, this song would work equally well  -- very professional, wonderful singing and performances from everyone on this tune.

The production is top notch too.

A great listen.

Even though I was not the final bassist I still toss this in and play to it, a wonderful tune it is, full of emotion which is portrayed well.

I just heard this on the CD nominations list as I've not heard it before. What a fantastic song. I hear all kinds of influences here - David Coverdale, The Scorpions and Dire Straits are but a few.
