I must give credit to my friend Harold Wyman for telling me his dream and naming the song. ;D

Also, my husband gets credit for arranging the basic structure. My original structure was verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge , chorus, like everything I write! haha. Thanks Bruce Dovidio!

This structure allowed Frank's (Zax) guitars to perfectly express the emotions in the lyrics. I could listen to Frank's guitar playing all day.  8)
 What a perfect collab!
Andy came along and surprised me with beautiful strings and keys! The bass line is awesome too  8)
Steve (Albino) rocked out on the drums ! Sweet. 8)

Mark, Frank and Steve added the male vocal that the song called for. Great fun! I've never written a song like this before, but I'm amazed at you guys!

Guitars, backup vocals and mixing - Zax- Frank J. Zax

Drums, backup vocals- Steve Smith
Backup vocals- Mark Shrider

The Prison of my Dreams
Tricia Dovidio (c)2013

Awakened
to the harsh reality
That is my life
Aware
of the flawed destiny
That I designed

pre:
I live and breathe
 and make my choices
I go to sleep,
escape the voices

And I dream..

interlude:

pre:
by day, I won't lie
or break my vows
in dream, I'm guiltless
having you now

Ch:

I knew you once
I loved you over and over
You held me captive
in beautiful desire
I was nothing
never part of your grand scheme
But I see you
In the prison of my dreams

bridge:

I'm bound, shackled by your love
I'm innocent, can't help what I dream of
it's not my fault if I love you, over and over
 in my dreams

solo

verse 2:
I appear
Much more lovely
In black and white
You can't help
but To be drawn to me
In the night
AHH

Ch:
I knew you once
I loved you over and over
You held me captive
in beautiful desire
I was nothing
never part of your grand scheme
But I see you
In the prison of my dreams

agressive outro:

I knew you once
I loved you then
you said goodbye
it's not the end
I knew you once
I loved you then
you said goodbye
it's not the end
I see you now
you love me again
in the prison (not guilty)
in the prison (have mercy
in the prison (in the prison)
i the prison (you want me-
in my dreams

Nice work, Lady and Gentlemen! I like the structure and the progressive touch of the composition and arrangement. All the parts fit nicely.

Steffen... Thanks very much for listening and commenting.   :)

Tricia... Credit for the Leslie Guitar part should go to Andy.

Once again, this was a real pleasure to work on.  I feel truly privileged to be part of such a great project.  Thank you so much for including me, Tricia!

Tricia, Andy, Steve, and Mark... You're contributions to this are truly excellent IMHO!!

I really love the way it turned out... I love everything about it!   :)

Thank you,
Frank

hey gang, good to see this one on here!!

A fantastic collab to be involved with where do I start..

Tricia - You said amazing, you're amazing :). Fantastic write and vocal, one of your most interesting songs perhaps? I really like the arrangement with the alternating soft and heavy sections, prog rock like as Steffen mentioned.

Frank - You led this ship with grace and panache. The guitar playing is awesome, lovely tone, chops, and some memorable lines. The harmony gtr part is achingly beautiful, and the main guitar solo is very well thought out and has some serious technique at work there  8). The mix is fantastic as well, you wove the many parts into a right blend.

Steve - you have been pulling off some great drum tracks lately, but this one is right up there on top. You made it the rhythm part interesting with those accents and pushes (which I like in a song), all I had to do was follow the groove you laid down. The verses are rock solid (great drums sound) , and the last part of the outro is particularly brilliant.

Mark - Your voice (along with Frank and Steve) suited this pefectly. You are proving to be an asset on MCS with your musical skills, selfless attitude and equable nature.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this woinderful song and crew.

I hope we wont be dreaming too much about Leslie, (they are showing Nightmare on Elm Street on cable lately!!).

Andy

this turned out great.
 everyone turned in great performances.
and the mix brought it all together perfectly.
from the cold lonely sound of the guitar at the intro through the heavier chorus and ripping leads to the full on huge sound toward the end.
don't even get me started on Tricia's vocals --- absolutely superb.
to be honest i wasn't so sure the male backing vocals were going to work...i really struggled on that...but it set in the mix just right and works pretty well; especially the in the prison part.

and Andy...i love your well thought out critiques.

at the end of the day this just a killer tune with a killer sound...proud to have played even a small role.

nice job by all.
rock-n-roll ain't pretty --- that's why they picked us to play it.
