27Aug14: Update: Billy's remix with the kick boosted posted up.

The 2nd installment of Bob's Time Trap suite...

Great lyric from Bob, superbly backed up by committed vocals from George, Moon-esque drums from Mark and everything wrapped up as nice as a bacon and sausage toasted sandwich by Billy with his tasteful guitars and powerful mix.

PROPHECY        (lyrics  by Robert H. Wood  ©2013)
bpm=130

Intro1: A fig D fig , Intro2: D C G F C D

Afig
Looking back I see the past, lost in time -
Dfig
more than memory, less than a dream
                Afig                    Dfig
could it be real?  could it be real                                        (VERSE)
Turning back I see a shadow following me -
catching up fast, seeing what I've seen
I'm not sure what to feel......

   G                                  F
It seems a little strange to me
       C                                   D
why everything turns out this way
    A                              C
so bound to happen, foreseen perhaps                             (PreCHORUS)
  G              D
akin to a prophecy

A                  C              D              G
Played out in prophecy  (Guided by what I see)                 (CHORUS)
A                  C              D             Am    G
Played out in prophecy  (Over and over again)
A                  C              D               G
Played out in prophecy  (creeping up from behind)
A                  C    F        G
Played out in prophecy  (I'll be who I'm meant to be)

It seems like a one-sided game to me
every move played out in prophecy...
Is it a game is it a game
From ahead I see what could have been
ancient memories, once called a dream                               (VERSE)
only too real.....

(prechorus/chorus , intro2)

F        Dm C       Am
locked in rewind
G
over and over again                                                           (BRIDGE)
F                        C
creeping up from behind -
G                        D
paranoid delusion in the end

(solo - over verse chords)

prechorus
end

splendid.

I post some of my work on "The Modern Vocalist" in a forum where people help you improve. Anyway, the first comment I got was

"Dude, you really need to get that published and released. Most excellent."

I love the loose'ish effortless feel of this song, to me it sounds like the groove bands get when they've been together forever (like Rolling Stone, Aerosmith or The Who).  Not common with prog rock, nor with online collabs in general.

Also I was particularly happy that I managed to include a sort of R+B/blues style chorus into the vocals in a prog rock song!

Thanks for posting George! It's good to have decent press :)

Fantastic vocal from you, and the blues/rnb style suited the song perfectly, very retro.

I too enjoyed the loose feel of the song, pretty dynamic.

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten
