Just wondering if anyone has dared to install windows 10. I'm a bit reluctant to do so yet. I'm not that savvy on the pc so the thought of sorting out potential problems with my current software is a little daunting.
I'm running cubase elements 8 and i've heard they have sorted out their compatibility problems. But I also run Soanr x3 studio, and a host of other stuff. I'm thinking it's best to leave it as it is, not broken doesn't need to be fixed.
So I'm curious to see if anybody else has taken the plunge and if there was and problems.  ;D

Took the plunge and swam back to win 7!

It worked ok, but slowed my system more than I was willing to accept.

I made the change...It was a bit hard at the beginning, I wanted to go back to 7...but after  a while I started getting used to it...I had some help from my son. I use Cubase Elements 6 and the old Cool Edit.

I'm going to backup my windows 7 system with Norton ghost and give it a shot. If something goes wrong, in 10 minutos I recover my system back.

For what I've been reading, my software and hardware are running fine on windows 10.

I'm with Cubase 8.5 Profissional and Wavelab 6.

Got it installed... I was afraid of some discontinued hardware but everything is working just fine... Gotta get used to the new interface other than that it's running smooth.

If someone uses some of the equipment I do, here's the list of what I use

UAD 2 Sattelite Firewire and PCI'e card

TC Powercore X8 Firewire and PCI card

Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP Firewire

Presonus FaderPort - USB

Cubase 8.5 Pro

Wavelab 6

I'm on Windows 10. I deactivated all the spy stuff and adjusted everything so it looks and almost like Windows 7/8.

Cubase 8, Cubase 8.5, Sonar Platinum, REAPER 5 all work well. Studio One 3 takes advantage of some new Windows 10 features and hence must be started in Windows 8 compatibility mode, because some plugins don't support that yet. I haven't started Pro Tools (11/12) in a while (at least in about half a year), so I cannot say much about that yet.

However, it's usually not the DAWs but rather some specific plugins that might cause trouble.

As for spying, I've been reading about it. Some say it's true, some say it's not.

7 and 10 are better IMHO... After a few weeks, my opinion is that windows 10 is the best OS from Microsoft, so far. Very stable and fast.
