Uncertain Dawn (Steve McAndrew)

When times get heavy I got you on my mind
When times get heavy I need your love to find
Though times are changing, our love will see us through
The bonds that tie between us, in hidden strength renew

Say goodbye by morning she's gone
There's Little chance we'll all see the dawn
Like a dam bursting forth all it's sorrow
Long the night with it's uncertain tomorrow

From your isolation, you faced your toughest test
We saw your face was changing, and it was for the best
And as we all watched you, you changed, as if in sleep
And with each passing moment, we hoped your love to keep

Say goodbye by morning she's gone
We hoped and prayed your fight would go on
The hope then smoothed the edge of our sorrow
Long the night with less uncertain tomorrow

Uncertain dawn, uncertain
Uncertain dawn, uncertain, uncertain

Steve McAndrew (Pleasuredome) - Music, Lyrics, Guitars, Vox
Marc Traynor (Canuk62) - Bass Guitar
Juhani Nahkala (Spacecube) - Keyboards
Todd Vierra (Moseskane) - Drums
Jonathan (Sound Wrider) - Percussion

Nick Testa (NickT) - Mix/Mastering

Probably the most atmospheric piece of music I have written, due to the subject matter and associated circumstances.

It is based upon the news we received at the intensive care department at the Accident and Emergency department of the local hospital, where my mother-in-law Marion (90 years old) had been rushed in an ambulance after having suffered a stroke. The family were taken nto a side-room and informed that Marion would not last the night and to make sure we said anything we felt we needed to say to her as "she was a very sick old lady". That is what made the dawn uncertain.

I am happy to say that Marion made a near full recovery and is now as fit and well as can be expected, albeit a very, very frail old lady :) :)

Here she is a picture taken with her great grandson on 11/24/08

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

OH...saw this up for awhile...didn't even realize I played on it until I saw the credits here...THOUGHT it sounded familiar! ;D ;D (didn't see a bass tab on it so...)
Wicked tune Steve! Glad it had a happy ending!

 8) 8) 8) Triple cool!! Trippin' cool. Man I love the vibe of this tune. I realize it's a sad song but man I love the heartfelt emotion you've put into this Steve. Love the guitars and of course you have all the good players surrounding you. Nice!!  8)

Listening to this one... again... and just gotta say, this is hands-down one of the best tunes I've heard in years! :)  Congrats to you, Steve and to Marion as well! :)

Mix is absolutely killer, Nick! :)

Thanks Dave and Rob, another two of my wonderful writing buddies!!

The concept was sad and hell to go through guys but the outcome was very, very happy. Marion is still soldiering on to this day...it was almost a miraculous turnaround. :) :)

Ditto Dave, I love the vibe too (especially Juhani's piano and strings!) and Rob, thanks for that my friend because there are sure as heck many GREAT songs on this board alone so that is some accolade :) :) 8) 8)
