Finally getting around to posting this as finished.  :)  Sorry guys but life got in the way for a bit just as we were finishing this tune. I really love the way this turned out and I hope we get to do more. Fantastic stuff from all. The words, the vocals and the drums really brought this together.  8) 8) 8) I always dig Mark's singing.  8)  I kept hearing keys in this but for some reason it just wouldn't work.

Anyways thanks for all the hard work and your patience.

Lets do more!!!  >:D

Malibu
So what do you say we walk away
And never turn around
Let's pack the car pick a star
And leave without a sound

An' what do you say, we go today
Nobody needs to know
We'll navigate a different fate
Like another change of clothes

Tumbleweeds they need to roll
To Sow the seeds they need to grow
Babe we need to go!
we need to go...

Let's ride off in the sunset
With the credits rolling by
Drive away from sad regrets
An let these mem'ries die
Let's go chasing rainbows
Leave this bitter rain behind
We're gonna wake ourselves tomorrow
In a another state of mind

And we'll start anew...
Life in Malibu...
They got bluer blues
Than us in Malibu

I run in place in this rat race
For reasons that are lost
You're so tired of being tired
For a life at any cost

We put away for a rainy day
Now we're drowning in our shoes
It don't take much, the slightest touch
The futures ours to choose...

Tumbleweeds they need to roll
To sow the seeds they need to grow
Babe we need to go!

Let's ride off in the sunset
With the credits rolling by
Drive away from sad regrets
And let these mem'ries die
Let's go chasing rainbows
Leave this bitter rain behind
Wake ourselves tomorrow
In a different state of mind

We can start anew...
Life in Malibu
They got bluer blues
Than us in Malibu

This is a great song guys. 8) 8)

Just like in the lyrics, I can picture this song playing at the end of countless movies as the credits roll by. :)

Very nice Dave and gang!!

Really like the southern rock influences specially during the solo part.

I thought I heard an organ part in there somewhere? ???

Tremolo guitar at the beginning really drew me in. 8)  Nice tune.

Thanks guys. Trying to finish up some tunes before I start too many new ones. The guys did a great job on this.  :)

Drums might be a bit hot but I mix the best I can.

Gotta love a Tremolo. It's also one of the few tunes where I get to wank a bit.  >:D

The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

Love the idea of packing the car and picking a star to persue a whole new direction, super lyrics and writing. The opening tremolo reminded me of when I first started playing guitar, nearly every amp. (that I could afford) had a tremolo knob, and here it works perfectly. Very Lynard Skynardish type licks in there Dave, superb style and playing. Mark's treatment of the vox is as smooth as chocolate melting on the tongue and Nitch's drums create the perfect feel and foundation for the track.

Only little thing I didn't like was the end, a fade out with guitar at full throttle would have done it for me.

Great track guys and well done to everyone.

Thanks bro. It was so long ago I don't remember the audtion now.  :(  I'll have to check back on the thread. There were a few auditions and mixes that weren't used. Keys, drums, etc.

Well damn it man.... that should have been mentioned in the production part!  ;D Too late now

Endings are always tricky.

Tremolo was always my favourite effect. Used it live whenever I could. Only a few songs allowed for it though. I always liked that sound. Like a leslie rotary speaker.  8)  Even deeper is cool. Thanks for the listen. The song worked itself out. I never intended to solo in the last half but that's how it just went. The guys did good.  :)
