Here's "Don't Be Afraid", an original progressive rock song. This final version is hot off the presses today. Vocals by me. All music and instruments by Chris Beaver (off-site). Lyrics were by Paul Dempsey (PVD), with minor edits by me.

Working on this epic slab of prog rock is why I haven't been on MCS here much the last few weeks. It took a lot of work.

I am very pleased with this, it's in my top 3 most favourite tracks ever to have worked on! :)

The soundcloud version is higher quality (and you can download it from there as mp3). I posted both as people sometimes find one or the other problematic.

Don't Be Afraid

(v1)
Winds like to blow late at night
They have nothing else to do
Just reach out and feel me
I'm here with you

(v2)
If you fear tomorrow will come
And you're not prepared
Just reach out and feel me
You know I'll be there

(chorus)
Sometimes the shadows
Move about as if they have a purpose
Like they want to block our todays
But don't be afraid
Stay close to me
Come the dawn they will fade

(v3)
Let the night own the darkness
Hiding in its shrouded domain
Listen to our heart beats
And forget the pain

(v4)
When the sun rises in my eyes
There's a shelter secure
You can always feel safe
Of that you can be sure

(chorus)

(bridge)
Whenever you find it necessary
Please use me as your sanctuary
My walls are tall and strong
And you know it's where you belong

Na Na Na Na ...

Sometimes the shadows
Move about as if they have a purpose
Like they want to block our todays
But don't be afraid

A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

GG:

The arrangement and your delivery make this a very powerful song.

It is great to be involved, thanks for giving the lyric a chance.

Paul

Very nice, George. Although the mix lacks clarity I somehow like it. Sounds very 80s to me, and the vocals fit like a glove.

By George!!!

A superb piece of prog rock, very well sung, played and produced!!!

The operatic mid and the outro are highlights.

Look forward to hearing more.

Andy

Excellent vocals George. I like the big sound but like Steffen says, it gets a bit muddy but it is an mp3.

Impressive work!
