"3" pages to date on studios. Impressive stuff.

Studio PLayer your studio looks fab. Love those effects units. Looks like one is a bass effects while the other gtr effects processing unit. Had them all at one time or another. I like Gerk's
run down on gear and the bass's. And  Nick how many guitars? Sounds like a music store.
You going for a foot ball team. He He.

Cool.

Some folks just get a corner of the room. Read that remark. I know what it's like.  I have been on both sides of the fence. Had it all and had nothing. When I had too much I was so exited I could not make up my mind. I used to record songs with a hundred things in them. Then when I had nothing I improved.  It's great to have good gear but so much nicer when one can use it
in a comprehenive way.

Stay Cool & keep rockin..

Jeff how are you, I'm Jaden. Not sure if we have come across eachother on here yet.
I noticed you have 2 gigs of RAM. Do you find there is a big difference. I am presently running 1 gig of RAM, and was thinking of getting more.
I'm not having any major processing issues as of yet, but ofcourse i do have the odd one.
 I have a P4, 3.2 Gig processor.

Hey Jaden.

Nice to meet you. I'm good, thanks.  :)

I've had this PC for 3 years now. It was a big improvement over the old Win98 P2, (less than a gig ram) system I had before it. I'd say go with as much ram as you can justify purchasing. I'm not much of a tech guy, but my general view is "more ram can't hurt".  :)

I'm ready to for a new system again. Dualcore...Quadcore?? PC, Mac??

I need to do some reading again to see what is what.

Jeff

Generally any question involving pro audio equipment can be resolved with the axiom:
"More is Better" >:D

I had a gig of ram and all was well till I started running a lot of soft synths, soft drums, and my emu sampler with disk streaming, I couldn't load everything I wanted till I upped it to 2 gig.

Now days I run hardware for midi and save the cpu for running realtime plugins.

Still running my trusty 2.8/800 p4.

Nice setup Todd !!!!  8) Some great looking gear behind the kit. Checked out the pics on your site as well. Drumhouse is right. You need one whole room just for your equipment. Very nice!!!

Hey some rockin here!!!!!!!!!!!
These are some shots I posted elsewhere!

The only real difference is I have 2 x 19" LCD panels now instead of the CRT's in the pics.

I am getting ready to upgrade the PC. My setup is:

Athlon 64 3800 2 gig ram
Sonar 6 PE, Har-Bal, SoundForge 8, IK T-racks and lot's-O-plugs
m-audio delta 66 omni studio
Alesis M1 actives and S1 Active sub.

You can see the rest of the junk in the pics!

Thanks for the comments Todd. Lots of blood, sweat & tears to get that studio up to snuff. Not to mention $$$. Took me five months to build my studio mainly because it was only my girlfriend, brother inlaw and myself doing all the work. I hate drywalling  :(

Done now. My home away from home  :)

I'm looking forward to doing the same thing as your Studioplayer ... hopefully in the very near future.  The girlfriend and I are buying a new house (well new to us!) and one of the big requirements on my side is that I have a space to build myself a proper studio setup.  I hate drywalling too, but for some reason I see some happening in my near future!!

Cool Mark. Go for it!!  :) That was one of the reasons we bought the house. Because of the 2 car garage. I was VERY firm that any house we bought had to have a studio. A couple of reasons why.

1. I paint and make a living that way.
2. I like to make loud music
and
3. I'm at that age where I deserve it.  :)

Dave

oh... and 4. She had no choice.  >:D

I can agree to all 4 of those reasons, but in reason #1 change paint for code and it's a perfect match :D
