This is a collaboration I'm very proud to have been a part of. It was the first or second collaboration I started here over two years ago. It originally started with a riff/chord progression I posted, but has morphed several times into something way more musical than what I could come up by myself. I looked through the whole thread and it's kind of funny seeing how clueless I was to the whole process then :) It turned out to be an absolutely awesome song IMO and one of the finest I've been a part of here. Thanks everybody for their contributions! Really outstanding performances by all, truly great lyrics, and a killer mix make this one of my favorites. Lyrics and particular song credits are listed below. Let me know if I forgot anything. It's been a while. Thanks :)
Credits
lyrics - ld57, HDA
music composition/arrangement/production - riggorog, HDA, r4m
keys - HDA
bass - r4m
guitars - r4m (main parts), riggorog (somewhere in there is another guitar)
drums - Thunder
mix - HDA
sax/conga programming - riggorog
Lyrics
Two Hearts
Way down in New Orleans
there's a Cajun girl.
Take you by the hand.
She'll take you in her world.
Show you every pleasure.
Turn it all to pain.
Make you beg for mercy
then do it all again.
In a room
off Bourbon Street,
two hearts enter
one heart leaves.
What she'll do
she did to me.
Two hearts enter
one heart leaves.
It's an old story.
Love's her battlefield.
Soldiers misfortune
charging up that hill.
She's a sole survivor
gets what she needs.
Make your soul surrender.
Make your poor heart bleed.
In a room
off Bourbon Street,
two hearts enter
one heart leaves.
What she'll do
she did to me.
Two hearts enter
one heart leaves.
You can pay the price
with just a roll of the dice.
In that room off bourbon street,
you know you found...found paradise
Now you know the story.
There's a Cajun girl.
Way down in New Orleans
take you in her world.
Better stay away.
You better not go near.
Unless you want your heart
to be a souvenir.
In a room
off Bourbon Street,
two hearts enter
one heart leaves.
What she'll do
she did to me.
Two hearts enter
one heart leaves.
In a room
off Bourbon Street,
two hearts enter
one heart leaves.

Hey Rog and Rog's band,..
This took a long and windy road but it finally made it to the finish line. I sometimes felt like i hijacked this (for my own selfish fulfillment) but I do think it turned out amazingly in the end. I do remember the first time I heard the riffs for this song. I remember saying to myself "self,.. that's one funky white boy!" lol
Everyone that I've played this too loves it Rog so that speaks volumes to your creativity.
Bill and Todd are always the absolute best at what they do,.. and it shows in this song in spades!
Robert is incredible at finding just the right words and feel to fit into an established groove. Loved singing them!
Thanks for the 2.5 year ride,...now lets turn it up! 8)

Thanks Jay! Give yourself a lot of the credit for how it well it turned out. You can hijack my tunes anytime :)

Hey Riggo and the New Orleans swamp gang,
Another gem from you guys. Very well performed and produced and it's a welcome change of pace from standard rock!
Super vocals and keys Jay, funky guitars (with Roger and Bill helming thats no surprise), and solid drumming.
I-podded!!

Holy crap! That's a programmed sax!? How!!!! What are you using!!!
Oh, and by the way, nice song! I loved the vibe you guys had going there! Love the bg vocals behind the lead vox.

Well, I use the word programmed very loosely. It's BIAB RealTrack sax that I cut/pasted together and modulated the pitch in spots. Glad you liked the tune :) Thanks for the comments!

Hello Roger
I'm new to the site, trying to find my around. Just checked out Two Hearts, you all did a great job.
I must be doing something wrong because I couldn't get it to play from this thread so I had to go to your FB page to listen to it.
Well Done all...

Hi Nelson. Welcome to the site! Thanks for checking out the song and your comments :)
If you go to the first post in this thread on page one, you should be able to download the attached file, Two Hearts Master.mp3. Here's a direct link to it - http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6945.0;attach=30099. Thanks again. Everybody did a great job on this one.

Oh I get it, there's not a player here, you have to down load the songs to listen to them.
You don't up load the song to the thread.
That clears it up, I thought I had a bad connection.
Thanks Roger
I'll get the hang of it soon

Yeah, that's the only thing I dislike about this site. Would be nice to stream the songs instead of downloading everything :)
