Wheew - this has been quite a process as a whole. But thanks to you talents it is finally here in the finished works (or why not finnished).. Special thanks to Henry aka Doc Midnite for the electric guitars and vocals. You da best :)
It started as a little semi-progressive ballad and ended to this weird 10 minute compilation of many many ideas.. I mixed it by myself and .. well, I tried by best anyway :) Hoping you like it too.

LYRICS:
Little Owl (Johnny)
(vs)
Once I heard a little owl
Singing right outside my door
Finest of the feathered fowl
Beneath the moon's bright orb
Folks say owls are wise
and I know this to be true
She had great all-seeing eyes
my heart tells me they're blue
(lift)
Songs about humanity, the beauty and insanity
Seeds of love and hate, our need to dominate
What is life? What's fantasy? This is our reality
We share a common fate...We share a common fate
(ch)
O mighty little Owl
Can you hear the dogs of doom
I can see their yellow eyes
Hiding in the gloom
O mighty little Owl
all this ignorance and fear
Rats & mice are running foul
Little Owl we need you here
(vs)
Once i heard a little Owl
Singing right outside my door
everything made sense, somehow
Beneath the moon's bright orb
And my mind was opened up
To all the possibilities
the door was finally shut
Upon my old reality
(lift)
i ran to find my brother, tell my father & my mother
the wisdom of the Owl, they laughed at me and scowled
My mother cried, "The Devil". My father said, "It's evil
"It's not up for debate"!
We share no common fate...
(ch)
O mighty little Owl
Can you hear the dogs of doom
I can see their yellow eyes
Hiding in the gloom
O mighty little Owl
all this ignorance and fear
Rats & mice are running foul
Little Owl we need you here
(outre)
i was standing by the door
she was high up in the boughs
beneath the moon's bright orb
i heard a grey wolf howl
and my little Owl took wing
thru the shadows of the night
but i can still hear her sing
an' my spirit feels so light...
(lift)
Songs about humanity, the beauty and insanity
Seeds of love and hate, our need to dominate
What is life? What's fantasy? This is our reality
We share a common fate...We share a common fate

Fellas this was great fun...but

The segue is lovely, ingenious stuff
Henry sounds absolutely haunting
An it's coming up on Halloween ;D
Great work, as usual, pouring out of MCS!
wish I could be around more, but it's not possible
These daze :'(
Thank you Era & Doc! Now where's that video?

We gotta finish "mousetown"
Johnny, Mousetown is an integrative part of this one... just listen ´till the end... ;D ;D ;D
Man, I noticed that you´re not around that much these days :'(
-
Hehehe - i dunno what happened.. The song started to live itself and the liitle owl wanted to fly :)
Johnny, did you notice the last sound of the song?? It is dedicated for YOU, lol.
I am going to make a video. All I need is 10 minutes of footage, lets say a few hundred photos.. Hmmm?
The Mousetown could be a separate song too, that is true Johnny.. But it is another project..
We have all the time we need, until it has been consumed - so guys, keep on rockin' happily wherever you are.. And thanks again :)
-
???
Yea, apologies Henry...
Worked picked up & my wife's taking online courses
I have this phone, but the damn things maddening! :P
Wrote a piece for your believe tune, but
Fortunately, for you, John got there first!! ;D
Nice song btw 8)
Mousetown has a more complete lyric
Should be another tune, but I luv how they run together
's'pose it's best to leave it for now, no time
Cheers

Henry I liked the solo a lot.
Thanks a lot, Andy!
Usually I´m not really good in filling more than 4 bars with a sufficient solo.
But -hey- I had to compensate my rather poor vocal performance somehow! ;D

That was no fishing for compliments bc I know you had a hard time spending on auto-tune... ;D
Well, it´s just there, sometimes... Sometimes the melodies are just there in the music, you just have to pick it out there...
The rest is hard work on getting it down with the lyrics without being boring... ;D
-
:P not that hard times with vocals, really... there were couple of notes actually and that is not much :) but yeah, i know it is hard work.. At least to me :) if we'd get payed normally we would be filthy rich guys :)
Thanks a lot, Andy!

Well it opened like something by Travis...the lyrics could be straight out of Harry Potter the Musical...nice vocals from Doc..then it evolves into a bit of a Rock Ballad.
After that the helicopters come ! Nice Strings in that bit ...I like the dissonance that takes it into the Outro around six and half minutes in, by this stage it's starting to sound like something off War of The Worlds album in the sense that each song progresses the story.
Great change of vocal sound in this section..not sure that Mousetown would be a place I'd want to live !
Overall it's pretty Epic guys...well done :)

Thanks CD. Mousetown is truly nasty place :)
