This has been a great collaboration..as close as it gets to working out a tune in rehearsal to completion!!
I had an initial idea, which Bill worked into a brilliant re-arrangement including a killer solo section adorned with great guitar parts. Steve wielded his gifted pen and lent his golden pipes towards a stunning vocal performance.
Then we got some drums from Erik (with cowbell attached!!) and finally Bill wove the parts together into a punchy rocking mix.
Thank you so much Bill, Steve and Erik, I am lucky to be in the company of musicians of your class.
In case you are wondering, the song is about "a house on top of a hill" quote - Steve :).
Thanks
Andy
MISTY MOUNTAIN (Gupta/Gifford/McAndrew) (c) 2013
V1
The tide is rising way too fast
The crest of the wave soon to crash
On a shore unprepared, devoid of cash and driftwood
Climb the stairway up from that shore
To the wondrous place that you've been before
Where solitude and peace are fully understood, oh so good
C1
Upwards and onwards, climbing ever higher
Leaving the hustle and the bustle way far below
Open up the door to the high rooms with the great view
From where all that you see sets your heart flying oh so high
High on misty mountain in the Villa Blues
V2
Sweet lover, beautiful lady
You make me so glad from the day that you saved me
You brought me to this place, this paradise
Summer is hot, in the winter gets colder
Our hearts will stay warm though the seasons grow older
In this garden of delight, wonder and surprise
C2
Upwards and onwards, climbing ever higher
The hustle and the bustle left way down far below
Cross the threshold into the high rooms with the great view
From where the silence you hear keeps your heart flying oh so high
High on misty mountain in the Villa Blues
High, high, high.......take me
C3
Upwards and onwards, climbing ever higher
The hustle and the bustle now distant memories way far below
Enter the sanctuary of the high rooms with the great view
Where everything you feel keeps your heart flying oh so high
High on misty mountain in the Villa Blues

Nice rocker, indeed. That guitar solo reminds me o Angus Young, the same kind of pulling the strings and the same kind of tremolo.
Great vocals, Steve, as usual.
Drums and bass, are great and tight...
Very good, guys.

Thanks y'all :) :) :) :) :)

Much appreciated Paulo. I thought the song is a mix of all my favourite classic rock bands :)

From the title I was expecting something like an Enya Song with guitars ;D
What I got blew my socks off ! Great tune guys...the highest accolade I can pay is that it sounds like a lost Cool Beyond Zero track.
There is an issue with the mix , it's been overcompressed and is 'pumping' ( when the compressor reacts to something loud and pulls the overall volume of the track down )
A little pumping can sound good if done right but this sounds too much - it could also be robbing the bottom end of some weight as I can't really make out the kick and low bass too well.
Hopefully these are easy fixes on the mastering setting - Stonking track otherwise.

Hi Mark,
Comparing this to a CBZ song is high praise indeed, thank you so much. With stalwarts such as Bill and Steve, the result had to be good!
