Update 25Apr16 - Billy has remixed the song (22Apr16) with updated bass and vocals.
A pleasure to be involved with this one...
Robert: Your spacey cryptic lyric sparked this off!
Billy: How can any song you're involved with not turn out great 8). You took on the lions share in producing this progressive rock monster, thank you again.
George: An excellent vocal, love the way you "Played" the part. That scream just before the breakdown is out of this world!!!
Mark: A fantastic performance on the skins. Very complex and yet totally in the groove. Those deft little adds on percussion and sizzles added the right amount of spice.
Once again, super work guys and a big thank you.
Andy
TIME TRAP (Part one of the Dream) Lyric: Robert Wood (c) 2013
A shapeless void through eternity
can't be destroyed, won't set you free
chasing you down like the prey that you are
defining the age of all things from afar
capture the moment but don't lose track of time
guilty or not , don't get caught at the scene of a crime
can't turn back the hands so watch what you do
cuz no one's to blame , it all points back to you
remember the past and file it away
a lost memory , in a dream it will stay
can't change what it was or what it will be
Chorus:
Don't be afraid , its something we all face
being lost in our desire to reach another place
with any luck , it will show up on a map
or hopelessly tossed alive in a time trap
We try to find answers without any luck
while others pass by , not having a clue
If all could be changed, by passing the buck
so many more fools wouldn't know what to do
It's not my place to say that the world isn't right
but I'm not to sure I can last thru the night
I toss and I turn , wipe the sweat from my brow
I wish tomorrow was already now -
I realize this dream is driving me mad
Chorus
(BRIDGE) :
I'm lost in time , please set me free
my strange nightmares must be the key....
I'm just a pawn , or so it seems
as my whispers turn into screams.....
SOLO
Outro Chorus
The Time Travellers:
Robert Wood: Lyrics
Billy Playle: Arrangement/production/mix/master, Electric & acoustic guitars, Keyboards
George Williams: Lead and backing vocals, vocal arrangement
Mark Cole: Drums, percussion
Andy Gupta: Original music, bass

Mark, great drums, dude!

Chapeau, Mr Playle!!!

Thanks Henry - much appreciated, I think the different approach on tracks is for two reasons:
1. my changing technique. I work on singing technique a lot and read a lot about it.
2. the actor in me, trying to escape by finding something in the lyrics.
