Why Can't I Just Get Old
Project Thread (http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?topic=1105.0)
This was Kelly's first project here at M.C. It was posted here before and for some reasons I deleted it.
I am re posting it the final time here. Kelly please excuse me and I hope you accept my applogy for deleting
it here. It's a great song. Jman really played well on this tune. Great lyrics. Great vocals. Cool Music 8) >:D
Folks there had been some response to the mixes in the past and you can find it

Back in 19 and 35 when a job was something you bragged about
The kids nowadays they don't seem to understand.
And we all pulled together to lend a helping hand
'cause the man asleep in the street could be your best friend.
So now why can't I just get old
And stay warm inside out of the cold?
The children have all grown they got problems all their own.
Why Can't I Just Get Old?
Well I've seen a lot I'd rather forget
Men getting' killed by the bayonet
And the shame that you feel when you know it's your fault.
My time is limited this I know 'cause I was born a long time ago
And I can't be for sure what it's all been for.
I ain't the man I used to be when I look in the mirror
It's plain to see that I'm not a man of 18 anymore.
I never thought that I'd live to be the ripe old age of 83
But it just goes to show you never know.

Thanks Cain & Nick. I am sure Kelly would appreciate the feed back. Have not seen him around but I hope he would show up soon. The minute he showed us the song I loved it. It was a pleasure to work on and I recall telling Jman "I am not sure how I got the bass to jell as it does". I must have felt the song. It came so naturally and for this one I laid down some drums to demo how they should go. Jman did a fab drumming Job. It's a little Country rock to me but it is well written.
Thanks again
