I am happy to present a new song from Smithie! He wrote the lyric and the original melody while Henry and I added parts to it.
Smith contributed the lovely vocal, while Henry worked very hard at the production/mix/master adding a wonderful array of guitars, keys and backing vocals.
Then Mark stepped in with a great drums part which really helped the song to take off sonically.
Special thanks to Henry for all his hard work, and for providing a super mix!!
Cheers
Andy

not feeling much like spring here in mid-west usa.
we're wondering where our global warming went.
but nonetheless the song sounds great.
and yeah i agree with Tricia - i thought smithc was sounding a bit like benny too.
the overall sound; mix; performances;etc...sounds so clear and full.
great professional sound.
had it cranked up in the car on the way home this morning.
nice job gang.
-
Thanks Mark very kind of you :). I hope listening to the song makes your drive a little better!

Wow great song a hit, it reminded me of a band called The Courteeners. Not just the vox sound (which was really well sung by all) or the song writing /performance which was flawless, but the mix itself was very professional sounding. I can honestly hear this being played on the radio in my car while driving home from work, especially with Henry's quote in mind.
We have had two nice days here, I actually had forgot how nice it was to feel the sun's heat on my back. Not to sound too melodramatic though, it's just nice to hope that it's not going to rain anymore.....and be warm again? ::)
-
Hi Steve,
Really appreciate the nice comment!
I will have to check out the Courteeners, cant say I have heard of them? UK band?
Smith, Henry and Mark were brilliant, and Henry's mix is indeed top drawer.
We got lucky with the weather too, finally!! It's 8-12 degC which is a heat wave :)

Thanks, Frank!
It´s The Edge´s achievment EVER EVER EVER getting connected with rhythmically delayd guitars, but - of course - he wasn´t the first but he squeezed the hell outta this technique ;D
-
Excellent! Great job all!! Nice guitar and bass tones that fit nicely in the mix! The ring mod thingy is cool too!
The vox sounded a bit like 38 Special at the beginning. Nice tight drum groove!
-
Hi Bill,
Thanks so much. The guitar's do have a U2 ring to them. Mark's drums helped to groove things along.

LOL ;D :D ;D ;D

Having to add "compliment" is what tickled me. You would need to add the same brackets and "compliment" word inbetween them brackets should Phil Collins ever spring to mind whilst describing any of my contributions. ::)
-
The ring mod thingy is cool too!
Thanks, Bill!
I layered 3 different sounds from my AXE Fx, dunno if a ring modulator was involved.
I thought it needed some special sound, not just pure guitar.
One of these sounds creates these extra notes that sound like an echo melody by a synth but it´s all guitars ;D

I think this one lines up with "Tonight" and an upcomming song of the same suspects Andy, smithC, Mark Cole and me so if people want to listen to more of them songs it might be easier to have them lined up here :)
-
Thanks everyone for liking the song :)
Hope you will like the other songs lined up from us....

Great tune guys...every so often I hear a song on MCS that wouldn't sound out of place on the radio and this is one of them.
Probably on a 90's station, as I don't really think these type of songs are around today...great effort all round...I am off for another listen !
