Hi guys,

Do any of you use a controller for Pro tools? is there anything cheaper than the Mackie Control Universal but just as descent?

New to Pro tools & controllers

Ray,

I thought you'd go Sonar 6!

I am not familiar with pro tools. but found this:

If you buy...use the link on the left!  >:D

Thanks Nick!

I'm looking for a controller that would work for both :)

My brother recently got the Tascam US-2400 for use with his PT-le setup.  His local music store was blowing these out for about $700 new.  You may still be able to find them around.  I haven't been over to his home to see for myself, so I can't speak of quality firsthand.

Good luck with your search - however it turns out!  Let us know what you come up with.

What PT rig did you buy?

:)

Thanks Cary! this looks like something I'd be interested in.

I use Pro tools M-powered 7 with my Delta 1010 rack & card, going to pick up another one of these as well :)

Surprisingly the (eeek) behringer BCF2000 has gotten pretty decent reviews .. but if you are going this route i'd do some googling on how well it works with PT LE.

http://www.behringer.com/BCF2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG

It is considerably less $$ than the Mackie

I ended up getting this one, faders & knobs worked first time with Sonar 5 & 6
motorized faders are pretty cool too, especially when recording automated fader movements and watching the faders move afterwards

nothing bad to say so far, its exactly what I was looking for
