Title: Stay
Post by: Billy on December 18, 2008, 12:31:26 PM
I composed this song and started looking for a singer. Paul (tallpaul) gave it a shot but I just thought it needed a female voice. In stepped Jolynn Seaman from Indaba who wrote the lyrics and came up with a great vocal. Thanks for listening.

Aidan.

STAY

Lyrics and all Vocals - Jolynn Seaman (copyright Jolynn Seaman)
All music - Billy Playle (Aidan)

Under the smile of a crescent moon
Watching the tide rolling in
I feel the warmth of the summer sun
And the touch of the heat on your skin

Life holding you would be such a breezy lane
Smelling the flowers 'long the way
After a lazy day watching the willows sway

I feel like I can hold my head
High above the rainbows end
High above the highest mountain then

Oh and when the shadows of evening fall
Dripping with starlight above
You take my hand

Here by the midnight fire I feel the glow
In the coolness of the sand
Higher than higher the flames of desire

Blow a kiss when you flutter by
Sweet valentine
Weaving your magic till break of day

Hey, stay
Won't you stay?
Oh, stay

Very nice arrangement and super vocal.

Sounds very 1940-ish.....WW2 era....could fit in well as a movie soundtrack.

Billy, don't do that! Because WHEN you do it, I always think about throwing all my music equipment out of the window. I'm very close to that again ...

Wonderful music, wonderful vocals - absolutely perfect and professional in every respect.

Thanks for sharing. :)

Regards,
  Steffen

Wow!  I really like this Billy, and great vocals.  It's such a good match.  I can understand why you like this kind of music it's very relaxing to listen too and probably very enjoyable to play.

Really beautiful. The world needs more music like this!

I love it like it is, I really do. But if you wanted to make a little more accessible for today's intollerant audience, you might only have to change your piano style a little.

But truly a great piece of music.

Aidan,

Absolutely Beautiful!!

I haven't been around here much lately - this is the first finished piece I've listened to in a long time here.  It was a great place for me to start - and get my juices flowing for the new year  8)  8)

Nice one again Billy.

I'm going to have to make a Billy Playle playlist on my mp3 player pretty soon.

I'm with stoman,... might have to smash my gear pretty soon if you keep this up!!  ;D

You should be working in the music industry not the Royal Mail.
