Title: Evil Lie
Post by: Errol on May 15, 2011, 08:59:06 AM
A HUGE thanks to Dan who did all the instrumentation.
I wrote the words and music and did the vocals.

Why do look at me sadly?
Am I prejudged, convicted and tried?
Won't you hear my side of the story
For the truth's been completely denied

Your friends are eagerly waiting
Convinced they've been proven right
They're circling and watching me suffer
Laughing, deriding and all for spite

Please don't believe a word they're saying, about me
I always hate to see you cry
And you should know the way that I feel, about you
So don't believe this evil lie

Insinuations come easy
With a past I'd sooner forget
But this time I'm pleading not guilty
Pleading and praying - we're not done yet

Please don't believe a word they're saying, about me
I always hate to see you cry
And you should know the way that I feel, about you
So don't believe this evil lie

Subjected to poisonous rumours
Designed to keep us apart
Promises previously broken
And you're not hearing my heart

Please don't believe a word they're saying, about me
I always hate to see you cry
And you should know the way that I feel, about you
So don't believe this evil lie

Thanks for listening, Paulo!  :)

I haven't written many jazzy songs, Dan but I might be the start of a new thing for me!  ;)

If someone told me this was an old record they'd found I wouldn't question it.  It just sounds really authentic.  Great vocals too.

Thanks Tricia! I always love your songs. Your opinion is very valued indeed. :)

And Dan, I'll look among my songs in the drawer, my half completed songs and I'll sit down at the piano too and see what gels.  :)

Nice work on this all. Reminds me of Al Stewart meets Duke Ellington vibe.
