Mr. Mom's lyrics, my vocals.

Backing track from the web site "The Modern Vocalist". They had a little exercise recently where a they posted a  backing track, and it was open to contibuters to have a go at putting their own vocal line on it.

What An Odd Thing To Say

I found myself walking on a path never taken
And asked myself "What does it all mean?"
And my "self" tried to answer
Tried to keep it real simple
As my self said, "We're both on a breeze."

What an odd thing to say, what an odd way to phrase
Something I just can't quite understand
Both my feet, firmly planted - but my head's in the clouds
Must be I'm surely the worlds tallest man

I found myself driving down a road never taken
My self said "You follow the things that you need."

What an odd thing to say, what an odd way to phrase
Something I just can't quite understand
Playing follow-the-leader, but I seem to be both
Are you saying I'm a two-faced man?

I found myself sleeping in a funeral casket
And I asked myself "Why was it me?"
And my "self" tried to answer
Tried to keep it real simple
Said "The answer is just destiny."

What an odd thing to say, what an odd way to phrase
Something I just can't quite understand

What an odd thing to say, what an odd way to phrase
That I'm simply another dead man

George can often be found playing stringy things, and singing...

Sounds great George!
I wasn't sure if these lyrics would work anywhere, as I didn't think they would be a good fit on anything. Thanks for proving me wrong. 8) 8)

Really cool, sounds awesome  8)
We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Missed this when it was posted, it turned out pretty well.

Nicely sympathetic dark instrumentation and off beat lyric now bolstered with GG's distinctive pipes.

Oh, very nice indeed.  :) Everything ties in so well: John's quirky lyric, the compellingly dark music, and GG's intense vocal interpretation.

Good work, guys.  ;)

I have been playing with a great little free VST for mastering called T-Sledge.

As  test I tried I used it on on this track, and it did great job.  :)

I updated the mp3 in the opening post accordingly.  >:D
