rkennett (Acoustic,Bass and electric guitar)

The Image that Shows
(c) 2009 Patricia Dovidio
there she sits facing the mirror
and once again she's painting on her smile
she will sing and the world will hear her
hoped their cheers would make her life worthwhile
does her best to give them what they came for
the lights go down and she takes the stage
she belts it out and the show just drains her
after all is done she is older than her age
-pre:
seemed like yesterday she was up
having fun and dreaming big
but the big dream is all too real
and not how she thought it would feel
as a child she felt that no one noticed
last in line for any love at all
she could write and sing when she was lonely
her songs answered her heart's call
she made a plan to take her music somewhere
but the music soon took her instead
never found the love that she was craving
-pre:
and the fix is messing up her head
having fun and dreaming big
but the big dream is all too real
and not how she thought it would feel
ch:
the dream has turned into terror
the highs leads to a low
and as she looks in the mirror
will it show
the image is what shows
an image is all they know
there she sits facing the mirror
and once again she's painting on her smile
she will sing and the world will hear her
hoped their cheers would make her life worthwhile
-pre:

repeat chorus:

All they know

Well thanks for listening and commenting! :) We threw this together quickly for a battle of bands contest online. The genre was rock. I told Vincent I liked Triumph, and he wrote this music in minutes, I think! :) and he gave me an idea to write about a girl singer.
Awesome!
It took me a few days to write the lyrics, but the melody came quickly. We don't know if we won the contest yet, but who cares! ;D

Nice one! Let us know the results.

Thanks for the comments
the mix isnt the best and the letters like K and C kind of have that hicup sound however thats because I didnt eq and comp vocals right...Ive since learned in the past few days how to fix that however this was a quick mix and i will live with it for now and learn what not to do for next time.

Wow Tricia and Vincent - love this one!!
Once you guys have finished with the mix and tracking, this song should be huge!!!
Nice guitar tone, and a nice lyric, melody and vocal Tricia - you are really churning out some good ones.
How many songs have you done for the album - you must have over 15 tracks by now.
Regards, the battle of the bands, as ol Meatloaf used to say, 2 out of 3 aint that bad :D

The vote for the winner wasnt done fairly...they did the voting in house...i wanted to post the song on soundclick or something and whoever got the most play or ranked higher over a period of time wins.
Having 2 or 3 judges pick the winner on the same forum where the songs were collabed on just isnt fair because poeple will vote for the people they like and not the song.
anyway i basically deleted my account from that site because of that and a few other reasons...i didnt delete account because we came in second...i deleted it before the results.
Paulo is working on remixing this song.
Tricia and I have written a bunch of songs however none of them would be album ready...Im planning on redoing a bunch of our better tunes.
First song to make it on our album when or if we ever finish one would be "Lover Boys Eyes" however thats not done yet...the rest of the songs are not ready and will or are being redone.

We will finish one! 8) my hair might be gray by then..I mean, well, you know what I mean! ;D ;D
