Hi Folks ...
I havn't recorded for about three years or so ... thinking of starting again..
Things have moved on ... I have been doing other stuff..
I was wondering if what I have will allow me to record fast enough?
Can I use my rented laptop with a portable usb connected external hard-drive for recording and playback ... for example ...
would an acer 4520 laptop ... and buffalo ministation work.
Could I keep all track files on the external hard-drive and use the laptop as my recording vehicle?
ie. no sound files are saved to the laptop... all are saved to the external HD?
I guess that the nitty gritty of my question is ... would an external USB hard drive such as the buffalo be fast enough for using software such as n-track etc. etc with minimal lag ?
I have been out of recording so long I have no idea what I can do on a budget system.
Many thanks
Johnnie
