Well we are getting to the end of our album project...just one more to go but this track is a bit special...not just because it took us a year to finish it ::) but because it is for the first time Andy Billy and myself have taken a section each to sing ...A bit of a problem to mix but possible with a big hammer and strong glue.
Very cool lyrics from the Cas and Andy looking at the state of the world from an Alien benefactors point of view...a nice twist I think. Andy's composition is top notch as is everyones playing and I also think the effort and 110% input from everyone really paid off...even right at the last minute J came back with his Theremin track which works a treat...even gave me the chance for the panned space ship effect in the first break...very 60's scifi :)...on to the next...and last :'(
Casia- Lyrics, Promotion
Andy- Lyrics, Music, Bass, Vox, Les Guitar
Billy- Vox, Electric Guitars
J- Keyboards, Theremin
Ian- Vox, Drums, Production
EARTHMAN
Lyrics: Casia/Andy
Composition: Andy,
V1
So we have come again
To the (blue) planet near the sun
We've travelled many miles from home
We'd promised to return.
But what we see on here
Though progress has been made
Time after time the same mistakes
Shows there's a lot to be done....
Chorus
Earthman
Can you tell me what you've done
The gifts left behind were to build a better world
What have you learned in all these years
The History book on the shelf keeps on repeating itself
V2
Why can't you realize
That life is an unique thing?
All around we can see
(The) desolation that lifelessness can bring
But what we see on here
Is the urge to self destruct
Pain hunger greed suffering
And we had thought you were the chosen ones
Chorus
Earthman
Know its not too late
To save the weeping Planet in your hands lies your fate
To live in peace and in harmony
An ideal state for Man we've done it so you can
(Bridge)
So is this what it means to be human
Where nothing can be drawn in black and white
The complex ways of a human mind
Greys the areas
There's no black and white
No total wrong and right
Chorus
Earthman
Help us show you the way
The guardians from the Milky Way can set you free
Paradise - for all mankind
(need a line here)
Outro V3
Now it's time to bid farewell
Return to our alien world
We decide not to intervene
A young child learns to crawl before he starts to walk

Wey-hey!!
Sounding great gang!
This required a lot of production and huge vision - and I thnk we pulled it off.
Super contributions from everyone, with great lyrics from Cass, and Stoney - once again you amaze with your playing and production wizardy - I meant blacksmith-ship.
Its a privilege to make music with this band. "Out of the world" playing from Billy (what a lovely guitar solo), J ( a fab bed of keys including the wailing terrapin :), and Stoney (cool drumming).
Onto the next and last one.
Stoney - a "king kong" version when you get the chance ;)
Cheers

Ave a Naaaaaaaaaaanna Andy :)

Wow! Love it! Gotta love any time a theremin gets involved :) Sounds like a good mixture of Bowie and Pink Floyd. Really nice production/performances and KILLER guitar solos!

Thank you so much, this is one of my fav songs as well. yes, a tongue in cheek take on Bowie with a dash of FLoyd and a sprinking of Beatles.
Whole lotta theramin - you cant go wrong with that can you:)

And Andy, I still think you have a killer voice for this style and I mean it without a doubt...you can sing for me any day.
I love everything you guys do Stoney, Billy, Jay not just with Stonehinged but all your stuff and I'm honored to Collaborate with you.
I'm excited to start promoting the album and I hope I can do this justice, I will try my best. Now the story WHEW! Two more years me thinks, eh Stoney!! Unless you guys wanna pay for Stoney and I to take off to a deserted island somewhere to write :D ;D And I don't mean by homemade raft across the puddle!!!
