this project was started to utilize, a unknown Motown Tune's, drum stems, that had been purchased from a internet vendor that sells loops & such...
a tune was written, to closely, follow, the drum track.. vox, Bv & keys were added...
uploaded my seps to DocMidnite (Henry Mittnacht), DOC...
guitar & bass was added & drum stems (13) were modified...
Doc did a masterful job on everything....
which included mixing & mastering. WHAT A GUY!
credit needs to be given to the unknown drummers, who can only be refered to, as Funk Bros. Drummers. It was their stems that was modified & used ...

The first draft got me fairly confused so I tried to fiddle my way through it, adding some guitars and a bass track.
By that time, summer 2013, I was pretty busy with some live music stuff so maybe I wasn´t quit concentrated enough to reveal the soul of this song...
In Feb. 2014 I came back to it and - bam!- we finished it and it turned out quite good, me thinks :-[ :)
Cool experience playing with this genre and dealing with really great drumtracks.
I allowed myself giving it a boost and turn towards "today" - I hope :-\- especially on the endvamp...
Guys, take 2:30 of your time and listen to this gem!!!

i'm, always, just so, impressed with what Doc can do, musically & production, wise, with a few tracks...
Doc (Henry), pretty much, nailed an older &, probably to him, a obscure & outdated music style from the USA'S Music Scene, alive, in the 1960's/70's...
for he, to do that requires very special feelings for music,,
his unique approach to filling in the blanks on any tune on which he works...... is, always, simply great work.......

many years ago, i worked with a local group that opened for a Delbert show in Greensboro, NC...
man, we thought we were kool, til Delbert took the stage...

i had my gear set from last works & started Master...the speakers went to shaking from volume...
you'll be shocked it you start play @ a too loud volume... you'll get a hearty bass boom, on the get go. (.wav)
mp3, a much better listen..IMHO...
gonna get to tossing this tune @ some of the Beach Music Stations, here, in North & South Carolina... here's hoping we can get someone to open up & spin...

Ok, you mastered it at your place with your gear, right? Or Nashville???
It def. sounds "bigger", but some highs/presence espec. on the leadvox are almost hurting.
So if you´d back them down a bit it´ll sound more pleasing, me thinks ;)
