I'd forgotten about this lyric, and then Tony picked it up and ran with it.
Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I do. ;)
Music/arrangement/vocals: Tony Nybeek
Lyric: Donna Devine
It Sure Wasn't Love
V1
She was smilin' in the doorway like a dirty promise
And a jolt of longing went straight to the groin
Now I'm the kinda guy always tries to be honest
And I knew she was tradin' with a counterfeit coin
Chorus
It sure wasn't love
But it felt real fine
I let her drive me crazy
So I wouldn't lose my mind
It was every damn thing
I'd ever hoped to find
But no no no
...It sure wasn't love
V3
She was laughin' when she saw me fight to keep my balance
As she sauntered over, dark angel of doom
Well I know right from wrong, but I lost the challenge
And before I could stop it I was in that room
Chorus
It sure wasn't love
But it felt real fine
I let her drive me crazy
So I wouldn't lose my mind
It was every damn thing
I'd ever hoped to find
But no no no
... It sure wasn't love
Solo
Chorus
It sure wasn't love
But it felt real fine
I let her drive me crazy
So I wouldn't lose my mind
It was every damn thing
I'd ever hoped to find
But no no no
...It sure wasn't love

I've been listening to this song a lot.
that melody is infectious --- in a good way...not the have to go the doctor sort of way ;D
but one thing that sticks out is it seems to be lacking in the low end. the bass could use a little boost in the low to low-mid and a little volume boost. and the whole mix might benefit with aittle more in the low-mid range and maybe a little less on the top end.
just to smooth it out a bit.
personal taste but that's my two cents.
either way...i still love the tune.
