Title: Life Goes On - Sharpola / MM
Post by: Sharpola on March 05, 2007, 01:18:43 AM
I'll call this one done unless something really offends someones ears :))

Music - Ray Sharp
Lyrics - Michael Taub

Life Goes On

I use to own a world
Where my life was round
And then she
Pulled me in,
Picked me up,
And smashed me to the ground

Then a half-a-million people
Reached out to lend a hand
They said,
Come here boy,
Listen up,
We'll help you understand

That,
Life goes on
(Life goes on)
Oooo, Life goes on
(Life goes on)
Oh yeah, Life goes on

I never did listen
To the words they said
That's when life
Drug me in
Stood me to
And slapped me 'cross the head

When a half-a-million people
Screamed out "where have you been"
I said,
On my own
All alone
And running from my sins

Boy,
Life goes on
(Life goes on)
Oooo, Life goes on
(Life goes on)
Oh yeah, Life goes on

I guess some lessons in life
You need to learn on your own
I never stopped to take notes
Because my life goes on

My,
Life goes on
(Life goes on)
Oooo, Life goes on
(Life goes on)
Oh yeah, Life goes on

Hey Ray, sounds great man....

It does sound a little compressed on this end... like some of the instrumentation is fighting for the same space.... but then again, I know nothing about production   :D

Thanks, you brought this one to life...

Mike

Cool tune. I like the radio type mix in the beginning and then the guitars and drums kick in. Very cool. Very modern. Nice stuff guys !!!  8)

Really well put together, and some great badass guitar parts. The "big" feel at 2:12 is a great contrast. Terrific stuff!

Teeny quibbles: I'd have been tempted to bring up that great single note melodic guitar figure during the verse just a touch more, or perhaps emphasize the highs on it during the verse so it sticks out just a little clearer.

I'm not sure how I'd go about it, but some small part of me wanted the snare to build in intensity and roundness from asbout 3:18 on to bring it home.

Okay guys.... school me a bit here...

I listened to this one on headphones last night and I don't hear that compression that I hear when it comes directly from my computer speakers...  I've listened to other songs and I don't hear much difference between listening preference...

Does anyone else hear a big difference between the two?

Ray you have more talent in your little finger than I will have in another 30 years of guitar playing and writing.

Good work.
