Waiting on the Bell to Ring
(c) 2007 Michael Taub
Verse 1
Sitting here up high
Looking down from the courtyard wall
I see Billy G made varsity,
So he's tossin' round the ball
As Chrissy prides on by his side
He doesn't notice her at all
And pot-head Pete struts down the street
He didn't, comb his hair again
We're a schoolyard full of strangers
Waiting on the bell to ring
Verse 2
Manny chirps the tires
Of his primer-gray Chevrolet
Meanwhile Melanie wants all to see
The cherry car for her birthday
Four geeks in jeans, walk the scene
As they get bussed in for a stay
Then pot-head Pete attempts to speak
'Bout rolling, a bone with his friends
We're a schoolyard full of strangers
Waiting on the bell to ring
Bridge
Oh, Carl knows Lee
And Lee knows Kim
Kim now dates Mike
Cause she broke up with Jim
Now, I know Tracey
Who once met Jim
But he don't know me
And I don't know him
We're just waiting on, waiting on, waiting on the bell to ring
Verse 3
Sitting here up high
Looking down from the courtyard wall
Cops sneak around, without a sound
And start frisking a guy named Paul
They seem to know, where to go
For they must have recieved a call
Cause pot-head Pete works on a beat
Where it is easy to fit in
With a schoolyard full of strangers
Waiting on the bell to ring

I like this mix a lot. As many times as I've heard the tune now, I must say it really hangs together for me -- give or take my own part! ;D
Thanks for the chance to contribute.

Congradulations All!
Great Work. Great song. I really like this as well. Great drumming Jman. I like the bass line. Very cool.
The piano is very well done. The vocals sort of remind me of Paul. I think it's sort of a Paul song. Lyrics wise I mean. And you sound sort of British in this. Maybe you are British. Liver Pool "ring a bell"?
Clayville I like your lead guitar licks. Fits the song just right. Nice work.
Put this in the Jute Box Nick.

P.S.
"Ring my Bell" Remember that one.

Very good song - Congratulations on a great job to the contributors.
I was waiting to hear "How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?" at the end.
