Post by: srvfender on August 19, 2007, 11:41:06 AM
This is another song with computer backing tracks that was greatly improved by real musicians. Thanks to Stevegardner and Davidinoz for getting this song into the finished column.
Author, guitars and vocals, mix: AJ(srvfender)

Aj , you've rattled of another nice track in double quick time !

Very smooth sounding with nice harmonies , it's great how much better songs get when people jump in here and replace the midi backing tracks with some real talent.

Nice one !

Think  :-X I will now go out and buy a James Taylor album.

Cong rats on getting it complete. Song wise this tune is awesome "big time". What a beautiful song.
All those little parts are very very well worked out and the tones all match. It's very professional.
I agree with C.D. the vocals  and harmonies shine on.  8) Not sure who mixed this.

There is just some track noises in it that I like to take out when I mix but nothing much. The mix is clear and
does have some dynamics in it. I like the way some of the drum fills are panned.

Love the lead work in & around 2:17

Very inspiring tune  8)

Tubes,

Thanks,
AJ

Nice tune AJ. The addition of drums and bass really add to this. Good job by all. Love your guitar tone. Really sweet.  8)

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the props. I beginning to love that 335 (don't tell my strat).

Also, now that Davidinoz is back he's going to re-mix.

Davidinoz did a great job on my last song. Really made everything come out nice and clear. I could use a new guitar soon. Something with humbuckers. I'm limited to mainly my Tele (which I love) and my Strat but for recording can be a bugger with the single coils. Usually have to turn down my volume pots a bit to get rid of some hum. You have a nice sound with that 335.  :)

Dave,

You have great guitar tone on your recordings. And don't forget, nothing else sounds like a Fender. Different tools for different projects.

AJ (srvfender, it is my handle by the way).

You boys and your Geetar Toys ..Lol  >:D

I have an electric guitar but I don't like playing it...I have no clue what type it is.....les paul ..fender whatever , they're all just guitars to me.... except that my mate ( the lead guitarist ) reccomended it when I wanted a good cheap one ..It's made by Yamaha, I know that cause I used to have a couple of their synths.  If it's been played more than a dozen times in the 7 years I've had it I'd be surprised.

Cosmic,

Yamaha makes good quality low budget guitars. A good choice for your needs.

Dave,

Nice mix. The sound quality is much better than mine. The only changes I would make is to raise up the upper vocal harmonies a bit and bring down the guitar melody a bit. It seems to be fighting the vocals a little. These are, of course, my subjective ideas and preferences. Can you send me an ape of either this copy or one with my suggested changes?

Thanks again for yoyr time and expertise.

No problem. I'll tweak it tomorrow night and put up an ape. Bed time here for me.
