Title: Why
Post by: CosmicDolphin on March 11, 2008, 04:53:16 PM
Jeez

Two songs finished in the same week !  ..I'm in danger of becoming prolific  >:D

This is a different kind of song to what I would call 'normal' for me...no synths , no effects, just a little bit of Country and a little bit Rock n Roll.

I wrote this years ago when I was having guitar lessons,  and these were the only chords I knew.....now it's come to be fully realised thanks to the talented guys here.

I have no idea what it's about...I think it might be about Love, Life , Family and Forgiveness.....one of my friends who does alot of covers gigs said he can imagine it being a good song to play at the end of the night when everyone is drunk...I think it was a compliment !  8)

A massive thanks to everyone involved...It's now the song I had in my head.

Why

Why did it take you so long
I can see that I was wrong
So why don't you admit it too
Why did it take so long

Verse 2

You and I , there's no reason why
We share our tears through the years
So why won't you , admit it's true
Why did it take so long

Bridge
And as the years roll by , we breathe a sigh in the end
And there's no need to fight 'cause no one's right to pretend

Verse 3

You and me , and one made three ,
We share those tears through the years
And though it's true, It just came out of the blue
So Why did it take so long

Bridge Repeated

Verse 4
You and I There's no reason why
We share those tears through the years
But I'll tell you why then we'll just get by
Why did it take so long
I guess it's true it just came out of the blue
So why did it take so long ??

That sounds really great CD.  8) Didn't know you had all those great guitar players on there. Nice !!

It does kinda have that drinking song feel to it. I could see the whole pub crowd singing this at the end of the night. That means it's catchy bro.  :)

You'd have to be a better man than I am (Gunga Gin) to play the guitar solo with some beer under your belt. I had to concentrate to fit all those wiggly bits in even stone cold sober.  ;)

Hey guys I am new here but I listened to this song..

Now thats what I call "A GREAT MIX".

The tune is balanced real well and the vocals are crisp and they stand out like a barn yard in the City.
I think your "mixing skills" and production touches deliver the goods. I see there are only "59" views but "Never" let that throw you. I recommend posting this tune on major sites and entering it tune onto the charts. You will see the number climb. Why? Why? Why? Because this tune is the doctor of stress. It's like when you have a cat or dog.. They make you blood pressure go down. This tune raises it for sheer thrill and then you get a cool laid back chill. Move over folks.. There is a new kid on the block.

The Stage Hand Dude! Said that.

Hey welcome to the MC , and thanks for listening. The guys did a great job here so the mix was easy, just eq , balance and some panning - nothing too fancy.

If you know I any site you think I should be posting it to then let me know and I may give it a shot .

Basil statement from above reflects the same thought I have. Excellent! I like your advare images to Comic.
Sort of remind me of a cute Sweety Bird. Not meant to be an insult but a complement. The image is big and real cool. Your vocals stand out well in the tune and the piano is fantastic and the slide guitar, drums, bass, vocals,
Harmonica all work well in the mix. You "Mastered" this one well. Someone above made a reference to posting it
around. I say send it to the FM Internet Radio. There are a ton of them to choose from. Post it everywhere.
I am retired at the moment and out of contract so I cannot get any air play at this time. But if I could I would.
I have not picked up an instrument form about 2 years now. I been spinning other peoples tunes but it's about time tom start making my own. Everyone seemed to do a wonderful job on this tune. Very inspiring.
