Title: Rescue Me
Post by: CosmicDolphin on March 29, 2008, 12:13:20 PM
This was a song I wrote last year, it's taken just about 10 months from start to finish which must be a record for me as far as finishing a song that was just written from scratch.

I think it's a song about how people can save others from themselves...but it can be about a boat trip if you like  8)

I'm real happy with how it cam out , as it caused me a few problems production and style wise, and I think it found it's own style in the end. Massive thanks to all those who took part again.....

Rescue Me

V1

Thank God I'm not falling in Love with You
It's something I wouldn't do
At least not in front of you
And thank God for all the times that you came around
When I was deep underground
And you brought me back around

Chorus

Now I'm Drowning Rescue Me
Safe here in your arms I'll be
I'm sinking since you set me free
And I'm thinking
That it's time I walked the line

V2

Thankyou for all the times that you stood by me
They told you it shouldn't be
But you stayed so faithfully
Now I can't just stand here and return those eyes
I told you too many lies
And you bought my alibi's

RPT CHORUS

Bridge

And all the time that I was sinking
I just didn't know what I was thinking
When I did that to you
Didn't really mean to

Congrats Mark. This one was always my fave. Glad to see it finished. Got a little Tom Petty flavor to it. Nice job everyone. :)

Good Job :)

To my ear this has a Rolling Stones feel.....which is really cool.

I like it Mark, The bassline cooks. 8)

I'm thinking Tom Petty also, and that's a good thing to me.  ;)

Yeah Mark. That's sounding really cool. Lots of ear candy.  8) Great job on working this one out. I have to say you really do some creative stuff. You like to push the boundries. Probably something more of us should do. Your obvisiously not afraid to make lots of sounds. Mix this with that. I like that.  :) That's a really cool trait. Keep at it man. I think the song came out pretty cool.

You like to push the boundries.

Dave

And the Buttons !  8)... I like pushing buttons...my wife says I'm a geek  :P

Thanks Guys...I think it's a keeper....actually it's my favourite one ( of my own ) I've completed here so far.

CD

PS ...We may as well push the boundries , we've got nothing to lose !

Wasn't on the site much lately, just being busy (with nothing I guess) but by coincidence I checked the finished songs threads and ran across this song. Great job CD! I like this mix very much. Really really good mixing! Proud to play on this song.

Cheers,

Robert
