Title: CVPiano - Tascam - GVI - free
Post by: NickT on May 09, 2008, 05:10:50 PM
GIGA Continuous Velocity Piano

The world's first instrument utilizing GIGA's Spectral Morphing technology instead of massive multisampling. This instrument utilizes only a single velocity sample, which is precisely and continuously expanded via the Spectral Interpolate Velocity (SIV) mode of GIGA's Spectral Morphing filters, to cover the full dynamic range, pp to ff, it is a FREE download from the TASCAM website. Just downloading now...I think this is just a part of the thing for free and the full version has more instruments.

Yeap, sounds good, and free. Have to try it with a controller yet, but I played back some midis and sounds fine to me.

good find, Nick.

for those on a budget.. a bit cpu intensive, but close enough to work in a mix, if it's all you have.. Not good for solo piano.  Better than MDA piano or Orchestral. not nearly as good as pianoteq or Ivory.

Better than the crappy soundfont I used for the longest time ;)
