Title: Proteus VX
Post by: Tacman7 on August 25, 2008, 07:54:01 AM
I have the X2 with Proteus sound bank but tried this version 2 their giving away.
It sounded really nice. Definite improvement over X2.

How are the Emu software synths at emulating Z-Plane filters?  I was really impressed with the Morpheus after playing with one in the store.  The sounds it could make back then were pretty groundbreaking.

I'm not really up on using the filters, just use presets myself.

I thought that they were just giving a soundbank away but it's a VSTi instrument or a standalone.

Seems like it sounds different than X2, it gets along better with my computer and loads quicker.

I downloaded this.  It was amazing how ahead of there time they were when they first released some of this stuff.  I still have my ProteusFX rack unit and the Proteus II orchestra unit.  They were great units in their day.

Playing with this brought back some memories, and I think I will get some use out of it.
