Trust in the Moon
A year ago, she told me that she'd stay
But then she said she'd like a holiday
Such a roaming soul I didn't understand
She took the early flight to a far-off land
As I poured another glass of wine
She called me up last night and sounded fine
But her tired eyes view London and Rome
And no constellation reminds her of home
And if the evening sky sends its rain again
I hope she'll realize that morning's coming soon
'Cause everybody just needs a map in this crazy universe
But perhaps she'll learn to trust in the moon
My bedside phone woke me up today
She questioned why the sun had slipped away
And when she cried she was stranded in Spain
I knew I'd buy a ticket and hop on a plane
And now the evening sky sends its rain again
She said she's glad I gave her company so soon
'Cause everybody just needs a friend in this crazy universe
And for now I know we'll trust in the moon
We look at each other, we long to embrace
We're going to return to our starting place
And now I know that the sky's more beautiful at home
We smile through the rain, we're not alone
'Cause everybody needs a happy tune
I'm glad we trusted in the moon

sounds great Steffen.

So nice... beautifull keys arrangement.

Nice work everybody! :) :)

This song has been remixed and re-arranged. This is the first time I am actually satisfied with it.
The link in post #1 has been updated.

Hi Steffen
Did you ever find Mike's last name?
And is this mix different than the last one you sent me?.
Thank
Mimmo
-
Hi, Mimmo!
I put the credits in the MP3 tags:
Vocals: Domenico Mercurio, Canada
Lyrics: Mike Graczyk, USA
Saxophone: Kay Hoeksema, Germany
Guitar: Bobby Clohessy, Ireland
Composed, arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann (Stoman), Germany
This is the latest version I sent you. No more changes. If you are satisfied, I'd say we can (finally) "stick the fork in it". :)
Regards,
Steffen

I Like it
And it souns like you do also
Please send me a wave file for it.

This is really pretty, Steffen. :)
Lovely performance all round, guys (and gal). :D
Donna
-
Thanks, Donna! But who is the gal? ;)
Regards,
Steffen
-
;D Steffen, I presumed that "Kay" was the gal. ;)
Was I wrong?
Donna
-
I thought you thought that, Donna! ;) :D
Kay is a male name in Germany (it is pronounced "ki" - like "shy"). I think it can be female too though, but this one is definitely a guy, not a gal. ;)

Steffen
-
Interesting, Steffen. Is it a localised name? I lived in Germany for almost 8 years and in three different cities/towns, but had never heard "Kay" as a name for either male or female.
I know that "Kai" is a common name, though not necessarily in Germany.
Anyway, he plays a fine sax. :) And his last name sounds typically Dutch. ;)
Donna
-
Very nice work. Seems to come together beautifully.
Hazz
-
Thanks, Hazz. :)
Donna, the name "Kay" (or "Kai") is, I think, more common in northern Germany. I'm not sure if it is originally German at all.

Steffen

Really beautiful Steffen. Love the sax. Another great tune from you. Your just a writing machine. Amazing!! Nice to hear Mimmo singing on this. Good job guys!! :)
Dave
-
Thanks, Dave. Yes, the sax is nice - but you should have heard it when I got the seps. Kay seems to keep his sax in the fridge. It was completely detuned. Now I'm glad I bought the upgrade from Cubase 4 to version 5. Without its VariAudio feature I would never have been able to fix this problem.
How is your studio doing?
Regards,
Steffen
-
The studio is in shambles. Kind of a storage room for now :( It will be months until I get it all fixed up. BUT in the meantime I will get some music in. Thanks for asking. :)

Link is gone! :'(

I just tried it - the link works for me. Please try again! :)

I see! The link is the title! I was looking at the bottom! ::)
Anyway....Very nice! Love the horn! Mix is great too! Nice job all around! ;)
-
I tried the link several times Steffen but just kept getting the website cannot be reached :(
-
Really nicely written song , the sax sounded fine in the end ;)
CD

Thanks, guys! :)
CD, thanks again for your help in trying to rescue the sax! :)
Mike, perhaps there was a server problem when you tried to download the file. I will upload the song here if the problem persists.
Regards,
Steffen

I've tried over the last few days Steffen, always the same. It is probably a firewall thing, but I don't get any specific message except that the website can't be reached, so I can't fix it.

I attached the song to this post. I hope this will work for you, Mike!

no problems now Steffen... very tasteful guitar tone and solo Bobby, nice sax passages, superb arrangement/mix, passionately sung by Mimmo, something magical about the moon, many of us spend our lives hopping between one place and another, usually wishing we were in the other, always in a transient state. I'm not sure there is a starting place, but one thing is for sure, we'll only be happy if we follow our hearts....
Lovely song, well done
