Another year , another finished song...
This one started life as a fairly standard guitar song that I wrote away from the MC with one of my friends about 7 years ago...It was never fully completed so I posted it here to see what could happen....itgot a bit remixed towards the end after Aidan posted some syth parts that made me reconsider the whole arrangement. So now it's some kind of pop-rock crossover track ...and I think it came out really well ;D
Special thank to Aidan & Dave for putting up with me keep asking for changes or more parts !

Spilt Milk
Verse 1
There's no use , in crying over spilt milk
When the fate of our world rests in your hands again
And there's no time to look over your shoulder
You just keep growing older and the dreams you made
Were built on shifting sands
Bridge
You never go back...Don't ever go back at all
Chorus
Why do we waste our days away
How come I always hear you say
That tomorrow never comes to those who wait
Why fight against the hands of time
Eternally you will be mine
Because tomorrow never, Becasue tomorrow never comes.
Verse 2
The darkest hour
Comes just before the sunrise
But the break of the Dawn lights up your eyes again
And there's no sense in looking for the danger
You just wind up a stranger and dreams you make
Can slip right through your hands
Bridge
Rpt Chorus
Refrain / Outro
There's no use crying...there's no use in crying....( repeat )

Hey Mark,
great pop song! One for the radio stations around the world :) Yes, your song is a burner.
Congratulation to you all
really it reminds me of a song that they play until today in the radio here I don't know the name, but the singer sings something like "lets...in the year 2000...bla bla)
anyway, yours is even better!

Maybe the song you are thinking is Disco 2000 by Pulp ? Although I tried to mimic the production style of Human by The Killers a little. The good thing is you take the influence and make it your own.

yes, exactly, that's the song I had in mind. Its your voice and the kind of great catchy melody that reminded me, not the production...the way you sing your songs is very british ;). I like it a lot.

I was actually born in the same town as the lead singer Jarvis Cocker - Sheffield, England. Maybe some of it rubbed off !
My Dad went to the same school as Joe Cocker also from Sheffield.

Thanks Robert !
They're all in there...more like a live percussion layer I guess....I think I brought them in on the first chorus , then they play all the way through...easiest to hear in the breakdown part. It gave a great feel I coldn't get otherwise.
