Title: Fading From View - Stonehinged Track 3
Post by: Stoney on April 29, 2009, 12:14:37 PM
This track has a real classic rock feel to it and Billy has done a grand job initially on the bed track and then on the vocal which brought my sad old lyrics to life. Andy has given this a nice lively bottom end and J's keys work brilliantly as a counter point to Billy's ...oh and I hit the drums and mixed.

Cheers Ian

Fading From View Burrage

(V1)
The times that you hurt me
Oh, I wish you knew
That when you looked right through me
I faded out of view, Yaaa
I tried to get noticed
Close but never seen
Your name falls from my lips
Each night in every dream

(Ch)
Talk to me I'm fading
Look at me I'm fading fast
Can't you see...I'm fading
Just a shadow from your past
I'm fading from view..ah oh yaa

(V2)
Time passes slowly
It cannot mend a heart
Mine just stopped beating
When you tore it apart, yaa
I promised I'd love you
And never leave your side
So, now I walk beside you
But always out of sight

(Ch)
Talk to me I'm fading
Look at me I'm fading fast
Can't you see...I'm fading
Just a shadow from your past

(Bridge)
Talk to....Me now
See me....Some how
I am....So near
You have...To hear, yaa
I see the ways that you have changed
And how your life remains the same
I try to find some kind of sign
To show you that I'm still on your mind

(Outro)
Talk to me I'm fading
Look at me I'm fading fast
Can't you see I'm fading
Just a shadow from your past

Talk to me, yaa
Let you know I'm fading
Can't you see I'm fading
Just a shadow from your past
Talk to me I'm fading
Look at me I'm fading fast

OK Eman  ;), you win!! yeah i meant John Deacon (he wrote Another Man Bites the Dust, Your my best friend and I want to Break free - see I know my Queen) :D.

Hows TV Dinner coming along?? i would suggest listen to John Lennon;s Instant Karma just for the '50s piano feel in a more modern setting.

Cheers

This is great, really nice arrangement and a structure that is not predictable which gives it a really good uniiqe vibe,

Great mix, Ian! I'm glad you used Billy's synth line, it was essential to the song I think.. thanks for letting me play along here, it's a great song and you obviously put a lot of time into this mix.. everything gels perfectly.  8)
