JULIETTE
By Benny Moore
Moving through the crowd, I got to catch the mid-town train
Staring down the track I hear myself calling your name
Juliette what went wrong
I should have seen it all along
So many things I just don't get
Juliette
What can you do when you find out love isn't true
I guess I should have known I couldn't please a girl like you
You've always got someone else
And I'm left talking to myself
Now I curse the day we met
Juliette
Everywhere I go you're the topic of the conversation
I'm finally finding out what everybody knows about your late night reputation
Watching in the mirror as the joker searches for his pride
While the man I used to be is hanging on just for the ride
Pretending he can't see
What you've been doing to me
I'm losing track of my regret
Juliette
Everywhere I go you're the topic of the conversation
I'm finally finding out what everybody knows about your late night reputation
Moving on fast, you never get your love in the way
Your nothing like the girl in old William's tragic play
Now as the curtain falls
You take a bow but there's no applause
It's the end of our vignette

Thanks everyone for the good reviews!
This turned out to be a good, no nonsense, little rock tune. Doc has the magic touch on guitar and Andy always lays down a solid, but never boring, bass line.
And really, has there ever been a cooler use of the word "vignette" in a rock and roll song! ;)
Later...

Benny,
Your vocals are always top notch, and you write appealing melodies. You're no slouch on the guitar and drums either!!
"Vignette" really does add a touch of class to it.
Ive always meant to ask you - which play are you referring to? And its a play by Tennesse Williams or William Shakespeare right?
Cheers

The tragic play is "Romeo & Juliet". That's what a lot of people think of when they hear the name Juliet. By the way, I spelled it differently just as a subtle hint that she isn't the same type of girl as the girl in the play. Is that deep, or what?

Benny,
Oh very deep :D - 6 feet deep actually.
Julliette (in place of Juliet) makes the girl come from a french background (hmm New Orleans)????

Uhh,.. Hmm :-\ I write songs about "doin it!" :P
