This is a great song that Tricia wrote. I spotted the lyrics in her forum and due it's angry nature, immediately knew I had to write music for it :) After I did the guitars, John jumped in with some thundering drums while Andy played an equally fantastic bass line and some vicious organ. Combine that with great vocals by Tricia/Jay and an outstanding mix by Nick, you have the finished product. Thanks to everybody that contributed. Hope I didn't miss anything or screw up anyone's name. Great work! The song credits and lyrics are below. Thanks :)
Lyrics/Lead Vocals - Tricia Dovidio
Guitars/Music - Roger Wilkerson
Drums - John Wooten
Bass/Organ - Andy Gupta
Backup Vocals - Jay Lamothe
Mix/Master - Nick Testa
Don't Waste my Time
Copyright 2009 - Tricia Dovidio
All that I gave you
was it enough?
you made me hate you
when I wanted to love
I never asked you
but you barged in
you cut me dowm
you'll pay for that sin
Don't waste my time
with your useless lines
Hear me when I say
Get out of my way
remember the days
when we were friends?
now my good name
I must defend
Don't waste my time
with your useless lines
Hear me when I say
Get out of my way
fool me once - shame on you
fool me twice- I'm comin after you
Don't waste my time
with your useless lines
Hear me when I say
Get out of my way

Nick and Roger, are you hearing a weird squeak/skip at 1:25?

Nick and Roger, are you hearing a weird squeak/skip at 1:25?
Yes Tricia, I hear it... I guess it's a special effect ;D :D
Nice tune guys, really nice.
-
Tricia,
I thought that was just a strained squeek on your vocal. I had heard it and let it go. I can cut and paste a section from another pre-chorus line. I thought it added emotion. 8)
I'll check the original track. maybe something got whacked in the translation.
Nice job on the song all!

My Bad! :P
Fixed. I also added the BGV's to all the chorus's and brought the keys up a little.
Hope this sits better with everyone.

Yeah, I did hear that before. It was on your vocal track I believe, but I don't think it's very noticeable. My Bad! :P

Roger and Tricia,
Thanks for inviting me to play on this cool tune. It was nice to play on a tune created by Tricia & Roger.
Great job by all the performers, and a nice gritty late 60s - early 70s mood to it too.
Nick - thanks for a nice punchy mix!!!
Cheers

Really nice grungy feel to this. Well played and sang guys/girl. Drums are smokin on this!!
Nice base and keys add great texture and additional melody!
Great lyrics and great musical interpretation for them.
Those octave and harmony guitars really stand out!!
Thanks for letting put my two cent stamp on it.
Jay :) ;) 8) 8) 8)

Thanks Paulo, Andy and Jay. :) When I sing it around the house, my daughter asks, " Mom, when are you gonna stop being mad?"

Thanks for jumping on :) I think your backups added a lot. Especially, after Nick added them to all the choruses. Sounds really cool! You are right about the drums. Johns rockin! Thanks everybody for playing on this one!

Thanks Andy! Dug your bassline too :) I really like how Nick got it sounding in the mix. Sounds tight. I guess that's compression he put on it? I dunno.

Thanks! I was going to put another solo after the first chorus, but we decided just to do the intro guitar solo and then the little keyboard thing after the first chorus. More guitars are always good though :)
