Here's a song that defies current genres. I wanted to do a song that had a twelve-string guitar sound. I found a lyric by Casia and the song took off from there. I made it more of a fairy tale kind of song that never comes true.
The song starts with the premise that most little girls at one time want to grow up to be a beautiful princess, but along the path, they learn that it's not in the cards. However, Jenny is an older girl/woman that never has quite come to terms with this reality. Each night, in her dreams, she lives the royal life she wants so desperately, only to wake up in the morning bitterly disappointed. But there is always the next night!
I want to thank all The Misplaced Texans for making this one come to life, especially Andy for his idea to include violins and horns. Just brilliant. Also, thanks to Neil for his guest appearance.
