Title: a shadow of the past unplugged Singer/songwriter
Post by: soulfrontier on December 14, 2009, 03:53:51 PM
Hello MCS

music, lyrics, guitar and vox                                             Holger Bremer (soulfrontier)   Germany
slide guitar, guitar, bass, drums, mix/master                        Michael Jarosch                   Germany

A big, big thanks goes to Michael. He helped to turn a simple idea into a  song and his slide guitar is a shining star.

Inspirations: Jack Kerouac "on the road", Marc Cohn and Colin Hay

thx for listening

Holger,

Enjoyed the listen.

A great example of a 'story tellers' song. The acoustic slide playing is very tasteful.

Well done! Hope to hear more songs from you!!

Cheers
Andy

Thank you Johnny. Seroiusly that's my style. I'm a singer/songwriter. I LOVE the music of Marc Cohn, I think I'm his greatest fan. Hope that he will come to Germany. Same with Collin Hay.
See both at youtube and you will know what I mean. GREAT songwriters!!! And my strongest influences apart from the Beatles and Robert Plant!

That's me, this song is really me.

i know this much...

what we create together is, "a style of music"  8) 8)

when you create a tune, and i provide a text

(or vise-versa)

we create a kind of sound... ;)

i was jus' trying to be unfunny ;D ;D :D

and i was!!! ;D

Cheers! :-[

Aaah - beautiful Holger !! Love this song :) Really nice stereo. "Haas" guitars fx?
To me open tunings works always so good - nice dobro. But where is the ukulele? haha :)
Good work.

Cheers!

Thank you Mike and Era!  :)

@Era
no Haas effect as far as I know. But 2 guitar tracks for the acoustic  ;)

My first ukulele was my christmas gift last christmas. Now I'm learning to play it.  :)

Hey Errol thx!

actually it's a crazy idea to write a singer/songwriter song in a foreign language and to present it here in front of native speakers.
But it seems to work and that's a great delight.

Singer/Songwriter genre with a good doze of blues - that's just the perfect recipe for a nice song. At least if you have the songwriting skills, and you certainly have them, Holger.

Nice slide guitar. Make we want to listen to some of Michael's old songs again.

Regards,
  Steffen
