I Blew My Lover A Kiss
Copyright 2009 - Todd Swain
I blew my lover a kiss
As we made through the mist
To the shores of the earths other side
To seek the ultimate prize
Somewhere just over that rise
To shower on my beautiful bride
I took my place in the hole
Along with 80 brave souls
To make the voyage to fortune and fame
All the winds were a blow
With the rain and the snow
And the captain sailed on just the same
Sail on my hardies all now
Heave ho my boys
The dawn is sure to be clear now
Heave ho my boys
But when the new day awoke
The main mast now lay broke
And the seas were churning their wrath
The good ship was battered and tossed
With all the sails lost
And the cargo hole taking on water
Sail on my hardies all now
Heave ho my boys
The dawn is sure to be clear now
Heave ho my boys
And now the lady I'll keep
Awaits for me in the deep
In her cold and liquid darkened domain
As I fade in the mist
I blew my lover a kiss
I'll never see my lover again

I like this one very much.

Thanks, guys!
This would not have been possible without Todd, Paul, and Mara. And I also have to thank those picky Germans at homerecording-forum.de who are never satisfied with a mix. ;D

I love this type of song! What a great job all round, gentlemen (and lady). :)
(Todd, talk about coincidence: Just yesterday I wrote a lyric about a couple whom fate pulled apart. He was taken by a press gang, and she drowned trying to free him. Hmmm. Must be something in the air. ;) )
Anyway, fantastic song here, me hardies. :D

I noticed that this song has repeatedly been in the folk charts at a German site (www.myownmusic.de), and every now and then it reaches number 1 there - like today! :)
We must have done something right with it. :)

I remember this , I definitely heard it before - It's quite memorable but I can't see a comment.
So I will say now, great song - well done. One of those songs I should learn to play on guitar.
