Title: The Howling Moon (Stoney/Snowdog)
Post by: Stoney on March 17, 2010, 04:13:26 PM
This is a happy little rocker.....if you are a werewolf LOL. I really must stop watching old horror films but I guess it is a very popular subject at the movies at the moment. The idea behind the lyric is a warning or perspective from point of view the werewolf.

Mike has given the original song a real lease of life with great guitar work with bags of power...This has been a whole lot of fun and I got to scare the neighbours by yelling into the mic....cant be bad.

Hope you like it  ;D

Guitars -Snowdoguk - Mike Woodford
Drums,Vocal,Guitar,Bass,Keys,Production - Stonehead - Ian Burrage

The Howling Moon - Burrage 2010

Intro
Bite and scratch and claw you
Run and hide ignor you
Can you see me waiting
Still an-tis-ipating .........One look is so frustrating

V1
I'm not an animal
I couldnt be that small
I would not bend to you
And never trust the things you do

You laugh and stare at me
You dont see what I see
And you dont care at all
But now you're heading for a fall.........You're gonna take that fall

Ch
Will I bark or will I bite
Is my hunger satisfied
Am i wrong or is it right
The howling moon is out tonight

Will I run or should you hide
For a devil held inside
Some fight back and others cry
The howling moon is out tonight

V2
I'm not a criminal
It's something that I stole
I'd never lend to you
Coz I dont trust the things you do

Y'dont even notice me
Realise what I could be
You wouldn't care at all
But now you're headed for a fall...........You're gonna take that fall

MID
They dont believe that it's real
They're running busy little lives
Denying what the dark conceals
never knowing any kind of life

V3
I couldn't be your friend
You'd meet a bloody end
I've finished quite a few
You wouldn't like the things I do

You should have let me be
didn't really need to see
That I dont care at all
And now you're headed for a fall...........You're gonna take that fall

Hi Mike
We just got a couple of cool reviews I thought I'd share

Ominous opening leads into high drama by degrees ... by the time the main body of the song kicks in at 1.07 we're hooked. A very well crafted song. I love the occasional punk inflections in the vocal. Superb guitar work. Impossible not to like this. - Dr Grouse

A....truly creative work. Love the production. Anything with the moon....grabs my attention and ears. Some major talent behind this track... simply superb....awesomr songwriting...BRAVO !!!! - Larry Talbot

Another classic from the terrible twins!!

Love the sheer energy of the track.

Great performances from you both.

My fav parts are the chorus (very Stone-sy) and the mid!

With admiration and awe

Andy

Very well done guys!  I love these horror-themed songs. It just occurred to me that you're doing a lot of those lately Stoney. I mean there was the Halloween thing, but now it seems that every day is Halloween ;D

Another cool one Ian!  Great guitars Mike!  This stuff would fit perfectly in the closing credits of a great horror movie! Totally what I picture when I listen.
