After strumming around on my guitar for a while this idea popped out and after making a basic arrangement I went on the search for some lyrics. Since Ian is so kind as to always let me play on a lot of his songs, the first place I looked was in his "collection of scribblings". I'm not sure what motivated him to write the lyrics I eventually found, but I suspect it was just after he had lost a quid and subsequently found a penny.
As usual, a top notch performance on the drums from the master of story tellers. Many thanks for another easy and fun collab Ian.

V1
Friends I have gained more I have lost
Lovers now parted left counting the cost
Adventures once promised by minds in their prime
Are stories in letters from much happier times
I still watch the news but don't believe what I hear
A world full of madness hatred and fear
We could all recover but I don't like the odds
Corruption approved by celebrity gods
V2
When I recall faces of people I've known
They seem so unreal another life time ago
Names now escape to the tip of my tongue
This mountain I climb is a hill for the young
I still watch the news but don't believe what I hear
A world full of madness hatred and fear
We could all recover but I don't like the odds
Corruption approved by celebrity gods
Chorus
I'm done here, Nothing to give
No reason to drag it out, No reason to live
I'm done here, Feeling too old
Getting world weary, In this land for the bold
V3
The face in the mirror is looking down at me
It's counting all the cracks from the damage that it's seen
There have been better days not too far behind
Never worry about what's ahead that would break your tiny mind
I still watch the news but don't believe what I hear
A world full of madness hatred and fear
We could all recover but I don't like the odds
Corruption approved by celebrity gods
Chorus x2
I'm done here, Nothing to give
No reason to drag it out, No reason to live
I'm done here, Feeling too old
Getting world weary, In this land for the bold
I'm Done Here

This was a pleasure as always Mike and you have created a terrific track from my rather dark lyrics..not sure where my head was when I wrote those...more music therapy was obviously needed ...or more beer ;D
You also did a fantastic job of the mix ...more please
Many thanks for working with me and my scribblings ;D

Nice job guys! 8)
This reminds me of a cross between Devo and another band that just escapes my mind for some reason. :o

Stoney and Snowy,
You must be twins!! Theres a unique chemistry here - and every tune you put out is top class, and theres always something unexpected in there to tickle ones musical bone.
Another interesting release - the 'night-club" like electronica is a nice touch as it provides contrast to Stoney's downbeat lyrics (Stoney whats with you lately:)).
Tight performances on vocals, guitar, drums and rather flash playing by the bassist. Good you got rid of the original player :P.
Whip it good lads.

Haha thanks guys ...Nothing the matter with me Andy that a few beers and a good loud ear bashing by AC/DC wont fix ..... Powerage I think LOL...... That last bass player was a right trouble maker ;) but he would be welcome to look in on future projects any time :D
I love the Devo ref Mr Mom ....very cool :)
Cheers Ian
