Title: Evil Woman Blues
Post by: Speed Demon on December 24, 2010, 09:16:28 PM
With so many musicians on Prozac, what have they got to sing the blues about?
They're out of a job!

Hey Gene, this isn't the same evil woman waiting to cash in your life insurance, is it? ;) >:D

Of course, I kid - wishing you and the missus Happy Holidays. :)

John, she's as meeeeeean as she can be!

However she did gift me with a Boss DR-880 drum machine and a Garmin GPS for Christmas.
I think I'll keep her.

Thank you, r4m. This is the first song I was able to do vocals for since recovering from a bout of bronchitis. No fun at all for over a month. I was feeling the blues for a while.

I used the Bengal Tiger striped guitar for this tune. A 1985 Charvel with Dimarzio X2N pickups and my own home-brewed tone circuitry inside. Nothing fancy, I installed an effective filter to attenuate the strong low frequencies found in high output pickups.
This guitar is an animal now.

For gigs I use a Peavey 5150 120 watt head, driving two 2X12 cabinets.
For big gigs I have four more cabinets, driven by two stereo amps in the rack.
And a few digital toys in that rack also.

You use the 5150 to record?
I used to have a 6505 2x12 combo. Pretty sweet!

I did use the 5150 for recording, until I acquired a Boss eBand.
I built a dummy load box for the 5150, consisting of four 50 watt AC power resistors wired in a series-parallel network. This allows me to run the head into the dummy load, which fools the amp into thinking it is connected to two speaker cabinets at a four ohm load. Now I can send a line out signal for recording and not even Mrs Demon can hear it.
The eBand removed the need for this box, but I still have it.

Damn, then I don't like the blues  >:(.

Very nice guitar licks, I tell ya.

Paulo, just get married. Then you can combine all your suffering into one massive bout of depression. Look at the time you will save. Here's a limerick that covers this subject.

I love life and life loves me
I'm as happy as can be
A happier man nowhere exists
I think I'll go and slash my wrists

"This is Suicide Hotline, please hold"

Have a nice day!

You are doing well, Paulo. Only twelve years for me. I got married late in life.
She's a good woman, plays piano and mandolin, and she puts up with me. She's tough!
She could be a drill sergeant for the Iraqi marines.
