Hi Members,
Highway 605 South is a story-ballad about a girl, a boy and a highway that goes terribly wrong. I wrote this back in the 80s but recently redid it: the technology finally caught up to where I can play heavy metal guitar on a sampler with Amplitube. The version I did back then had a smokin' guitarist but a cheesy drum machine TR??: just wasn't quite right. In the new version, I am playing all the instruments, mixing, singing, everything, but the guitar solos were improvised by Dickie Ueda that I transcribed off the original recording.
It's free for you to check out and enjoy!
Regards,
Gary Tang

Cool song Gary, it definitely has it's own sound. 8)
Kinda a cross between The Cars, The Wiggles, and Devo - talk about a weird pairing of bands. LOL
Here would be an updated chorus line for today: ;D
Lost on Highway 605 - blame my GPS

John,
LOL, I shoudl make a GPS comment, the wife and daughter say I'm a GPS cripple, can't go anywhere (even places I know well) without programming it in! And the GPS always disagrees with the wife (guess who wins?).
Regards,
Gary

;D ;D ;D I don't know which is scarier when it comes to directions - putting total trust in a GPS or in my wife's terrible sense of direction. :D
You just KNOW there is a ton of potential for "GPS" songs that people can relate to. Just look at these titles right off the top of my head:
Bury me with my GPS... so I have no chance of finding HELL!
From L.A. sun to Alaska crude... halfway there GPS said I'm SCREWED
Left at the alter from a GPS falter
Grandma got run over by a reindeer... just cause Santa trusts his GPS... you may say there's no such thing as Santa... but as for me and Grandpa we're a mess... ;D

What used to worry me when I was hurtling down the autobahn at scary kilometres an hour was when the lady in the navigation box would politely say "If possible, make a U-turn" :D
-
;D ;D LMAO - you didn't actually follow that advice, did you Mike? :D

Thanks for posting. Cool tune. I didn't check the run time, but felt it was a little long.
Nice job!
