Title: BREAKFREE
Post by: nitch on July 24, 2011, 07:52:16 AM
BREAKFREE

Lyrics - Nitch and LD57
Guitars and vocals - Nitch
Drums - Albino
Bass - Muso Bass

Mixes by ZAP, WorryMort, Vincent, Argle

Lyrics:

I called you up last night,
It seems that all you do is complain
That everyday is all the same
You hang out with the wrong crowd,
So you've got someone you can blame.
I sure hope the wind blows your way.

Chorus:
Break free and pick up the pieces, of your life
It's time to put the past behind you,
It's time you had it figured out.
Its time to make things right,
Time to drown out the sorrow,
Intentions and your lies will not save you

Verse 2:
You start a war tonight,
It's the same old shit the same old fight.
And we both know just how this goes.
You nurse your battle scars. You're the hero,
I'm the villian.
So sure that you will get your way.

Chorus:
Break free and pick up the pieces, of your life
It's time to put the past behind you,
It's time you had it figured out
Its time to make things right,
Time to drown out the sorrow,
Intentions and your lies will not save you

This is such a good vocal, Nitch.. ::).

The chorus is a bit preachy, for my personal tastes, but you pull it off: i think, because, you come off as truly, deeply caring for the person to whom you're addressing...

Production values are great! And..,because Argle is mixing "ever onward" for us...I gotta say his mix is my favorite! ;D Kidding, they're all good renditions of a very good song! ;)

My salute to Albino and Muso! Great support fellas (as usual) :) Cheers everyone! Johnny

Nice rocker there Nitch! :) Thoroughly enjoyed it, that hook just before each chorus is killer! Drums and bass are dead tight - love Mike's bass - and your vox just get better and better. Great job :)

Mick.

Just to clarify, my mix was just a quick one-time thing.  Mort and Zap really worked on theirs, those are the main ones to listen to.

Very cool hook in the chorus. Deep lyric, but works with the melodic hook. Nice balance.

Cool mixes all. I wanted to give this one a shot.  :(

Great job all!

Pop-Rock at its best! Hey Bon Jovi listen and try to get it!  ;D  ;)
Yes, great hook line and guitars. Vox is also very good. Food for the radio stations.

Finally I see this in the finished section. I thought we would never get there when all these mixes started cropping up. Just when you thought that was it, then another one would crop up. But the quality of the mixes was top notch and so made it all the more exciting when a new mix emerged.
A few newbies jumped on board and produced some very professonial sounding mixes. So I tip my hat to worryMort, fantastic job bro.
And the other newbie mixes (I think zap and argle), again very professional.
In fact all that was involved should give each pats on the back. A very high standard from everyone.

Parry, thanks for letting me get involved. Excellent vox from you and awesome guitar work. This is indeed a song for the radio.
Glad to see you back from ur vacation. Now it is time for my vacation  ^-^

Nice tune Parry

I had a good listen to all mixes on my headphones.  My fave 2 mixes are argle's & Zap's - I like the openess of the verses in Zap's and the solidness of the drums in Argle's ( which helps the chorus to rock more than Zap's). My ideal mix would be somewhere between those two  ;D

Great song guys! I like so many things about it.
I really love that you posted all the mixes. We are so lucky to have so many guys mixing these days. It's cool to hear the differences.
Very cool. I like preachy lyrics.  ;D

Great song Parry, still think you could easily do Bryan Adams covers with your vocals. 8) 8)
I kind of agree with CD and would put Zap and Argle as my fav mixes, but it's really just a personal taste kind of thing. I like Zap's mix best because I like the "brighter" vocals... if that makes sense to anyone. :)

Hey gang,

A very well sung, performed and produced track indeed!!

Sounds radio ready, with a solid hook in the chorus.

This has to be one of the most modern sounding tracks on here in recent times ;)

Great work!
