Title: Here's more tunes
Post by: Paulo on November 09, 2006, 07:35:53 AM
We've done those at F-Jam.
Lately I remixed and replaced some of the things.
I'm leaving the original credits, though

I am listening to don't - Remove my hat.

In this tune I say "Excellent Work". Very clean and very well produced. Love Freddys drums.  And the vocals are A1 too. The piano is fantastic and the mix is
excellent. The good old days.

Now I am listening to "Left Alone". Nice vocals Curtis. The piano is really nice. Solid playing.  Tis song has a lot of action in it. Maybe Curtis voice could have went up just a touch. Maybe not!  The lyrics are well written.  Another great song. Curtis
you are one heck of a talent.  Great voice. Stay cool!

Thanks guys.
Tube, I agree that Curtis could be a little bit loud in the mix. As a matter of fact I had corrected that in the mixer, after I posted those songs here.

As for the drums, like I said, I kept the original credits, but both the drums on these songs were programed by me, they're not Fred's original drums.

Fred is a great drumer, but at the time he recorded those songs he was still tweaking is acustic kit, so the sound was not powerfull, that's why I did the drums again with a sequencer.

Yes it is John. I never did one like those before, but Andy asked me for some Cabaret type tune and I tried.
Thanks for your words.

Don't Remove My Hat

Its always cool to hear Andy singing. I like the overall arrangement...especially the horn parts. I used to be a trombone player, so I tend to focus on brass parts.

Cool swinging tune. Good job!

Left Alone

I've heard this one some time ago. Nice piano playing. Love the BIG sound when the drums and guitars kick in! I would have like that to repeat later in the song.

Nice job tho. You and Curtis make a good team. Keep em coming! :)

Thanks jeff.
Curtis was inspiring when I first listened to this song with guitar acompaignment, wich was already damn good.

But as a keyboards player, i pictured it in a complete diferent way, and it went nice.

Blame Curtis  ;D
