We have being doing the odd cover lately, so I thought it would be fun to "cover" a Stonehinged classic >:D.
Billy supplied the vocals and scintillating guitar work from last time around, Marcel ( a great drums part) and I (bass) provided the rhythm section for this version.
Argle spent many a patient hour cleaning up things and providing his usual first rate mix!
There are 2 versions here - one with and one without tambourine.
Cheers
I'm A Guitar Hero (Lyric: Casia, Music: Billy Playle)
(Intro)
I've got me a master plan
Gonna chase the devil
Right out of this land
Take him prisoner
Drive him from Hell
Put him in a facebook limbo
(Chorus)
I'm a 'Guitar Hero'
Playing virtual tunes, yaa
I'll unlease my inner rockstar
You'll see me on youtube
I'll set him up; plug him in
Force him to listen to the top ten blues
He'll wish he was little Dorothy
Tapping his shiny red shoes
(V1)
I'll click and drag
Drop him in the 'Kingdom of Loathing'
Hold up the sky for eternity
Blame him for global warming
(V2)
I'll cruise to Georgia
Where I'll steal his golden fiddle
From the sinful house of the rising sun
Leave him stuck in the middle
(Chorus)
I'm a 'Guitar Hero'
Playing virtual tunes, yaa
I'll unlease my inner rockstar
You'll see me on youtube
I'll set him up; plug him in
Force him to listen to the top ten blues
He'll wish he was little Dorothy
Tapping his shiny red shoes
(Bridge)
It's time to re-masculate
Give the devil his dues
Cut myself an acoustic shave
Stick on a couple of tattoos
(Chorus)
I'm a 'Guitar Hero'
Playing virtual tunes, yaa
I'll release my inner rock star
You'll see me on Youtube
I'll set him up, plug him in
Force him to listen to the top ten blues
He'll wish he was little Dorothy
Tapping his shiny red shoes

Comment - offsite!!
That one's really good, it has an eclectic sound.
I hear flavors of 70's blues rock in the rhythm and riffs, early 90's hard rock in the vocals and guitar solos.
Sort of a Crossroads era Clapton meets Skid Row?
Not that far out of my usual listening!
