This is Errol's vocal idea based on an instrumental draft that I had posted in Studio A (http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?topic=9794.0).
Ken helped out with drums, Andreas plucked the bass, and Bobby and Mark jammed along on their guitars.
This is the "preliminarily final" mix. :) There are some more tweaks to do, but the song has been in the works too long by now.
Edit 24 Oct 2013: Updated/new mix attached!
NOT THAT EASY
Lyrics, Vocal Melody & Vocals: Errol Chugg
Guitars: Mark Shrider & Bobby Clohessy
Bass: Andreas Glummert
Drums: Ken Grover
Original Music: Steffen Offermann
Arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann
I'm now confessing, you keep me guessing
You scarcely leave a clue
Should be resisting, but I'm persisting,
Can I get through to you?
Always concealing, more than revealing
I fall down upon my knees
My fingers burning, still I'm not learning
That you just love to tease
I can't escape
I can't break-though
Not that easy with you
Want to be running, but you're too cunning
You syphon my self-control
All of the while, trapped by your smile
Oh this madness take its toll
Lure me in
Throw me out
Cat and mouse
Feed the doubt
Regards,
Steffen

Fun song. Sounds great. Was a lot of fun.
Once again i find playing on Steffen's song a way to step outside my comfort zone and play something i didn't know i would enjoy.
And nice to collaborate with some new musicians too.
I have to say as a guitar player...i love the lead in this. Very nice stratman (bobby).
Thanks...

Although I am a reluctant vocalist, it really is fun to do because I can then pretty much sit back and watch the song develop with so many talented musicians adding outstanding contributions. It was a huge privilege for me to be involved in this. Many thanks to all! :)

Not sure why you would be reluctant.
While I'm not familiar with your other work; you sound absolutely fantastic on this.
Your voice was a perfect match for it.
Everyone on this did great and on top of the performances is a great song o begin with.

Everybody at the German site seems to hate the fade-out. Should I start it earlier?

Steffen

I think it's just a matter of taste.
It sounds like it starts part way into the last chorus.
Maybe back it up to the start of the last chorus.
anything more would be too much.
by the way...I think it sounds fine as is.
thanks...

Enjoyed playing on this one and teaming up with some great musicians. I had been away from the site for a while ( lack of time and inspiration :( ) Glad I looked in one day and found this song to start jamming with. As always Steffen you have a great mix here.
Thanks to everyone

Cheers Andy. I might try a few more in this style. It was very much a full collaboration and I was very happy to be part of it. Steffen had great vision directing the whole process. :)
-
Thanks, Errol, but I actually did not do that much in terms of directing this time. This is the result of a collective effort. A real collaboration. :)

Nice song guys... The keyboards palette of sounds reminds me of the Foreigner 4 album, those sounds are like the ones they used back then.

I just posted an updated mix where I fixed a couple of things that I did not like:
http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9884.0;attach=48021
@Paulo:
I would never have thought of Foreigner, but you may be right as far as the sounds are concerned.
At another site somebody mentioned Steely Dan. Interesting association ...

Steffen

BTW, I like the snare in that Foreigner song. That sound might have worked here too.

Another song with a new mix. See first post. :)
And please feel free to tell me if anything does not sound good!

Great Collaboration All!!
Enjoyed the listen.

Thanks, Frank!
Now, with the new mix, I can finally enjoy it myself. :)
Everybody has done a great job, but my original mix wasn't quite what the song needed.

I like the energy in this song. You've been making some fun stuff Steffen!

ANd Ken's drums are pefect.
I enjoyed this. 8) 8)

Sounding great Steffen. I do like it better. :) I have not been around much lately. :-[ I must rectify that. Hope all is well.
-
What a fine song. A good toe-tapper. :) Exceptional performances all round, guys. :)

I liked better the drums on the previous mix. They sound lifeless here.
No snare ring, no toms and kick natural ressonasse, you gated it all too much. Just my opinion wich means nothing.
-
Errol the Vox sound great , and are a perfect fit for the track.
Good work all round

Cheers. Much appreciated. I've worked extra each weekend for the past 10 weeks except a vacation in between. Hoping to get back into the swing again here soon. All the best to all. :)
