EDIT 2015-02-22:
New mix with new vocals (better mic)!
Difficult material. Especially the vocal recording quality was very bad (the singer will eventually get a better mic, then the mix will be updated), and the brass sounds like MIDI because that's what it is.
But under the given circumstances I think the song still turned out quite ok. :)
Thanks to Henry for adding the icing to the cake with his tasty guitar parts.

Beautifull... Sounds great Steffen.

Thanks, guys!
And, surprise, surprise: Not only did Kim buy a decent mic (a new mix will be posted once I get around to editing it), but she also joined MCS a couple of seconds ago!
Just waiting for Nick to approve it! :)

This site needs more female artist. Out of 2540 members on this site I only see one active female artist on here. This site needs new blood and more female musicians and singers.

Thanks for listening, Dave! And nice to see you again, btw! :)
I just added a new version with new vocals to the first post. Kim bought a much better mic an re-recorded the vocals.
I also fixed some other parts (this is essentially a completely new mix).

Nice song, composed well, executed well, Doc's guitars sound great and Deans drums also! Good commercial sound! Kim's vocals are sweet! :)
It does sound OK even with the midi EWI sax..... :)

Wow! This takes me back to the 70's golden age of soul. This could have come out of a "Shaft" love scene. 8)
Fantastic production and arrangement, Steffen. Love the singer.

Thanks for your ears, guys! :)
-
... you are all listening to the wrong version, btw. :)

This is great..very classy vocals help make it sound professional even if you did have to use midi brass..be great if you could get those redone at some point as it deserves them.
CD
PS- Can hear some nasty distorion on the Wah type guitar I think..sort of non-harmonic rather than musically related distortion..you can hear it most on the intro. Not sure if it was recorded that way or something happened afterwards but I can hear it more now I am on headphones.

I relistened to the 1st mix here and also heard a crackly noise during intro, somehow related to the wahguitar.
I doublecheked my wave file of it and have to say: Nope, my file is clean... :-\ :P :)
