I'm proud to say I've finished my first song that I posted on the MC ;D
This song started life as a rough tune I put together with my good friend Dale whom I've known since the age of about 5 or 6.
I already had an idea how I wanted it to turn out , but I must say due to the work and talent of my new friends here on the MC it has exceeded my expectations and I'm really happy with the final result. ;D
I've learnt some good things along the way such as how to use the boards , how best to present bed tracks for other musicians , but mostly how you never know what auditions are going to show up and how they can surprise and delight you, and give you the enthusiasm to push forward. I have no doubt that this would be sitting half finished on my hard drive without this place. I've made some new friends too...Dave, Ali , Scotsman you are honary members of the CosmicDolphins virtual band.
Massive thanks to all of you and I really look forward to the next one.

Way to go Mark. Woo Hoo !!! 8) Nice job on this. Quite the production to tackle. Tons of stuff going on. Really creative and well thought out on every little bit. I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out in the early stages but I'm glad you manipulated all the sounds to your liking. Made me sound better than I am. ;D I really think this turned out super nice and I'm happy to have been a part of it in some small way. Hope to add to more of your songs in the future.

Cheers Dave...Yeah it was a big job , and you started and finished about four other songs inbetween, but I do knew what kinda sound I wanted in my head most of the time , thanks for laying down some excellent guitars >:D
I do tend not to just have my sounds too straight most of the time , although there is a place for that too and the next couple will be more straightforward.
Hope to add to more of your songs in the future.

The mix sounds excellent. 8)
Everything is mixed very well. The backup vocals are there but not. That is they blend just nice enough
to have that edge that does not over power and cluster certain spots. I like the lyrics and this would make a cool club song. Drum sound great 2:31 is "genesis" 8) Sounds like an effect I heard in a U2 tune and others.
Nice modern songs with perk. Love the sound effect at the end and it ends well and the way it should.
A big congratulations on your "1st" very professional session.

Although he doesn't know it , Dave ( Studioplayer ) was responsible for BOTH of the sound effects.
The one at the end he did himself....the other one just before the lead guitar break comes in was actually the last note of his guitar solo reversed and slotted into place.
Hope it didn't end up too Pet shops Boys far ya !

Towards the end of this my laptop couldn't cope and I could only play certain parts of it without Sonar freezing...
I just got a new PC , and it's way faster so I was able to tweak on the fly.
I've used this to test out the new system and make sure i got all my plugs working , so this is the slightly revised version. I turned up the bass.....and re-eq'd the vocal and mastered it in a different way.......you'll have to tell me if it's better or worse !

Hi Mark,
Just heard this tune on the player. Have missed it on the finished collabs - It's massive - great stuff.
It must be nice to get in front of the console (so as to speak) once in while, you must spend hours behind that mixing desk of yours!!

It's my 5 year anniversary of joining the MCS. >:D >:D >:D
This was my first song made here , so I thought I would give it a bump as there's lots more folk on the board nowadays.
I made some good friends on this one and Dave ( Studioplayer ) continues to contribute to many of my tracks whilst Ali who sang backup vocals although she doesn't stop here much is now on tour with the band she joined after cutting her teeth here.
I was so fond of this one I used it as the opener to the Album I made.
Here is to the next five years ( and hopefully another album and more friends ) and also to nick , gerk and everyone who helps make MCS so great.

You can't beat this place. Some of the best people are hanging out here not to mention some amazing talent. We're a small group of people but everyones doing their thing and finding their pockets to play in. I'm lucky if I get to collab on some tunes other than my own. Tons of fun. To another 5 + more! >:D
