Hey all,
I'm trying to get an aiff file to my publisher tonight. He needs it right away.
I tried sending it to him from my CC ftp space, and also from Cal's server ftp. He can't download it from either. He said my file comes up as a aifc file. Don't know why.
Anyway, here's the file I'm trying to get to him: http://www.artistcollaboration.com/~johnny-boy/Those%20Days-Longer.aif
Any help will be appreciated.
Best, John :)

Thanks Nick and Bobby. I'll send him the zip link now. I'll let you know if it worked as soon as I hear from him.

If that doesn't work, have him try these...
http://echoprojectstudio.org/post/thosedayslonger.zip
http://echoprojectstudio.org/post/thosedayslonger.aiff
Another trick would be to change the extension ".aiff" to something else until he downloaded it. Then he can rename the file on his end.
Good luck,

You will have to post that on your site Johnny.
Non-members can't download from here. And I can't FTP out from work.
Sorry Bobby...I already had it zipped when I saw your post. :-[
Thanks for linking them Bobby!

And, note, John. That you will be safer when transferring files. or posting them on a server, not to use special characters aside from the underscore. And, leave space out. Some servers, and OS's are real picky about how they read file names.. Had a case the other day where someone used an apostrophe in a file name. And, my server and forum software handled it as code... Needless to say the file was not accessible..
Regards,

Thanks guys. I'll get back to you later.

Can I use your links direct in an email to my publisher Bobby. Or do they have to be loaded on my server?
John
-
You can email the links, John. I'll leave them there until you tell me to delete them.

Thanks Bobby. If he doesn't read his email by 8PM tonight I'll give him a call.
My wife is calling me to supper. See you in a little bit. Your files are sent.

I called my publisher. He said the zip seems to be downloading alright.
My son just created a folder for me in the publisher's ftp space. So I'll be able to use (and abuse) that from now on. He said it would be a lot easier for him just to grab the files from his ftp space. Fine with me.
He gave me his username and password this afternoon, but I couldn't figure the damn thing out - dopey me. My son did it in a little under a minute. I hate him!
Thanks Bobby and Nick for your help. Man, this site moves fast. I'm living in the fast lane when I enter your domain Nick.
Thanks again guys!
Best, John :D
